The Advanced Levels of the Martial Arts (Poem)

Poetry About the Martial Arts

There are two sets of three

in the martial arts.

The first set of three

is body mind and spirit.

Before we get to the second set of three,

let me tell you what the first set of three really is.

Body is the flesh

body is the muscles and bones

the vehicle of the I am.

But,

nobody knows the I am.

They just know the body

think they are the body

just as they think

life ends

and the end of body

is the end of existence

nothing more.

How bland and disgusting.

Mind is the memory.

It contorts and throws memory

controlling the person

like a dog runs from fire

instead of putting it out.

Like a person jumping from a shadow.

Like a person

who doesn’t know they are an I am.

They just think

existence is something they remember

and call it reaction time.

Now doesn’t happen,

then happens,

and on the second level

the person is caught by then.

Spirit is I am.

It is the end of the first three levels.

I am.

And,

so many people think

they have made it.

No.

Just the start.

The second set of three is imagination.

The first imagination is

to know that you are not a body,

able only to use hands and feet,

but that you are an awareness

and your real tool is imagination.

So many people figure out they are an I am,

but never use their imagination.

They go back to their day to day jobs

turn the wrenches and are happy,

when

they should be exploding into the universe.

You have reached the second set of imagination

when you can imagine something

and people see it,

react to it.

You imagine a ball,

and others see the creation of your imagination.

This is strong imagination,

but still weak

as far as the spiritual beings true potential.

The third imagination is when you imagine something

and it is real.

You imagine an orange,

and somebody can take it

and bite into it

and feel the juicy juices.

It starts with

you imagine a city,

and people see it

and even start building it.

But,

eventually,

you can imagine a tree,

and people will come to pluck of its goodness.

You imagine a spaceship,

and people can climb aboard

and fly to the stars.

You imagine yourself

standing on afar sun,

and

suddenly

you are on that sun

impervious to heat

enjoying being

in the sun…

or wherever you wish to be.

If you are working on the first set of three,

you need discipine

to unlock yourself as an awareness.

If you are working on the second set of three

you need people to believe.

You need to construct a machine of spiritual beings,

that not just you,

but all,

may travel to the stars

or wherever in your imagination

you wish.

    Hello Al.

I have seen demo’s like this surface for many years now. Regardless of who is giving the demo, the recipients always seem to have the same reactions. These guys yell like they are being electrocuted. They all bounce and spring around. Most of these come from Tai chi players, but there are several videos from an Yi Chuan teacher too. I’m sure you have seen theses videos as well.

Here is the most recent one I have come across. It is the first one I’ve seen from a woman. http://v.ifeng.com/vblog/news/201208/5bc82484-0104-41b0-8b49-8030d372b799.shtml

Do you know what each person (sender/reciever)is experiencing? It appears as thought the recipients are going with the flow of the energy, but I don’t understand the yells. They seem as if they are in pain, but seem unharmed in the end. Also, the person sending the energy seems to be sending several types of energy eg. spinning, bouncing, rolling, etc. Is this done soley with intent or are there subtle physical movements I have failed to see. (Or both) I found this in a Linkedin discussion and there was a few replies as to what this is called. I looked up the word given by the ‘expert’ and it translated to FART in pinyin. I guess he was full of it…so to speak…lol

Thanks for any input on this topic.

Hi Lee, interesting stuff. There might be some sort of energy feedback going on, but, if so, it is to his (her) own students, which means probably some sort of hypnosis. I’m fair sure you’ve seen this

you can probably find better quality if you look around, but that’s what popped up in my ten second youtube search.
So here is a guy who does the mystical bushwah, but it doesn’t work on somebody who is not his student, or isn’t conditioned to that sort of mental hypnosis, or doesn’t study the martial arts, or whatever.
I’m not saying it isn’t real, I definitely believe in it, but not the way these youtube masters have presented it.
There is a vid of morihei ueshiba doing it to some secret service agents, and that one I believe in. These were big tough boys, not his students, and it worked.
So, is the gal in your vid doing something? Probably, but not with a lot of power.
Although, to be fair, we’re talking. She’s doing.
Could she do that to me on the street?
    That’s the question.
More investigation, more training, more fun.
Have yourself a great work out!
    Al
