That said,
let’s talk about smarts.

The martial arts are one of the few practices in the world
that actually result in higher intelligence.

Going to school doesn’t.
Going to school is a trick of how much you can memorize.
Not a lot of problem solving.
Heck,
ask any college professor…
Does college teach you how to run a business?
Nope.

Now that I’ve offended a whole heck of a lot of academicians,
let me tell you how the martial arts makes you smart.

Real intelligence is based on
how fast you can make connections.

Intuition is the fastest connection there is.
Martial Arts works on intuition.
today’s schools don’t even talk about intuition.
And,
if they do,
it is some ‘study of the paranormal.’
Silly.

A simple class in martial arts,
be it kenpo or karate or aikido or whatever,
teaches the individual to be intuitive.
You make decisions based on the moment,
not on memory.

Even the memory training done in the martial arts,
remembering techniques,
is for the purpose of eventually outgrowing the memorization
and doing the trick intuitively.

You can go to school for a thousand years,
and the hairs on tieback of your head
will never stand up
when somebody sneaks up behind you.
(This is not to say school is useless, it always helps to have a good and large database of information, which is what school provides)

A year in the martial arts,
however,
and you’ll be spinning and working techniques,
correct techniques,
when somebody even THINKS about sneaking up on you.

Now,
there is nothing more to be said.
The proof is in your martial arts class,
it is in you sticking to it.

BUT
I’ve said it before
and I’ll say it again,
you can get there faster,
you can get intuitive faster,
you can get decades worth of experience in a few months
if you just practice something like
Matrix Karate.

It’s got the basic rules of matrixing,
it’s got the logic and common sense,
all in the right order.

An Interesting Thought Matrix…

Got an interesting email the other day,
Michael S. had this nifty way of looking at things…

I was talking to a friend earlier and it got me thinking about a couple of things. I wanted to pass along what I came up with and see what you thought.

Basically, my idea is that techniques have three main categories in relation to each other.

If we say your good friend Joe Blow has a strong jab, you might teach him a cross. Those techniques are friendly, meaning they work together in a very natural way.

Then you teach him a kick so he’ll be able to play that range too. This kick is complementary, meaning it isn’t exactly friendly with the jab but it serves to round Joe out.

Then he goes home and gets on to Youtube and decides to pick up a kimura. He doesn’t know much about grappling, he hasn’t learned any takedowns. The kimura is lonely. A lonely technique is one that needs friends to be really effective and doesn’t have them. If Joe goes down to the local BJJ school and starts learning the basics then that kimura is going to have lots of friends.

It goes without saying that this isn’t some kind of weird dig at BJJ (I know you’ll pick that up but I want to add some clarity in case this email gets shared). If a dedicated Judoka picks up a superman punch one day, then it’s the same situation. He’ll have to develop his striking base before that punch gets to ever really be effective.

One other thing I’d like to clear up about this paradigm is that some techniques can be alone but not necessarily lonely. These will tend to be straightforward basic techniques. As a matter of course, the techniques most likely to be lonely are advanced or complex moves when someone does not have a good grasp of the basics.

And of course, have a great workout.

I like the idea of grouping techniques
as friendly and lonely.
It makes science more user friendly.

It’s a variation of
saying the same thing and hoping for a different answer.

So,

Regular book is okay,
I’ve shifted to Amazon for that.
But,
I am now trying different things for the PDF,
and may be looking for a different company.
The problem is I would have to start on changing
hundreds of buttons.
Grrr.

So,
my apology.
I will try charging one penny,
if that doesn’t work,
I will try something else.

Just thought i’d let you know what is going on.

The Key to Finding Perfection in the Martial Arts

Happy Santa Anas!
The Santa Ana’s are the big winds here in LA,
it’s fun to work out with them whistling through you.

Ok-a-ley dok-a-ley,
it’s time to find out what perfection in the martial arts is.

Had a great talk with a bunch of students the other day,
and I mentioned finding perfection in the martial arts.

So what is perfection in the martial arts?
It’s an interesting question,
one that nobody ever really asks,
they just talk about it,
and assume they know what they‘re talking about.

It’s when you can ‘one punch/one kill’ somebody.
It’s when your form is perfect.
It’s when you understand the secret of the universe.
But nobody knows what perfection really is.

I do.

I defined it in The Master Instructor Course,
and tell you how to get it.

But here,
let’s talk about the short version.
Let’s talk about one of the things that I learned
way back when
that put me on the path to,
or at least understanding
what perfection is.

I was in an aikido class,
and the instructor said,
‘The perfect art cannot be felt.’

Man,
that was zen.
you know?

And it started me thinking.

He was talking about blending your defense
with the attack.
He was talking about moving your body
totally in synch with the incoming attack,
so that the opponent didn’t actually feel you
even when you took control of his body.

And he was talking about a high level of energy,
profound spiritual awareness,
etc.

But,
there’s more to it.

I took what he said
and applied it too ground rolling.

A perfect circle has no corners.
Because if you have a corner,
something will thump on the mat,
and then there is no perfection.

I spent a lot of time
figuring out how to roll without making any noise.

And it translated as:
the perfect art has no sound.

And I took that and applied it to karate.
I learned to move
without being heard.
My feet didn’t slap the mat,
not even my gi rustled,
and the only sound
was the smack of my fist hitting flesh.

Interesting.

The other night I came across the 1935 video of Morihei Ueshiba.
There was no sound.
He threw people,
and the only sound was them hitting the mat.
But of him,
there was no sound,
no foot fall,
no grunt,
no whisper of motion.

The perfect art can’t be heard,
or felt,
or,
for that matter,
even seen.

And that is the sort of thing I endured
to figure out the seven principles of the body,
and the six secrets of how to make ANY technique work,
which are all on The Master Instructor Course,
along with a lot of other nifty stuff.

The Deadly Pinkie in Martial Arts Fighting!

Happy Easter work out!
I hope you find lots of colored eggs.

Hey,
I thought it was time to talk about
the deadliest weapon in the martial arts.
The pinkie.

Now hold on,
don’t get that look on your face,
let me explain.

If you grab somebody’s pinkie in a lock,
like holding the pinkie vertical with your thumb to the base,
and start applying a bit of pressure,
you hear an ow.

The fellow has been subdued by a pinkie.
He is in pain,
he is thinking of his pinkie,
well,
he is thinking of the pain where his pinkie used to be.
He goes up on his tip toes,
he dances,
and,
here comes the strange part…
if you threw his pinkie off a cliff,
he would go with it,
screaming and shrieking,
so glad that the pain has stopped…
and then he realizes he’s falling hundreds of feet to his death!

And it was his pinkie that did it.

Now,
there is truth to this.
Yes,
there will be the fellow who understands
and would sacrifice his pinkie
that his body might live,
but these fellows are few and far between.

The Pinkie Death Throw.
Moo hah hah!

But,
that leads to something else.

Take a pin,
stick it…HARD…into your finger.
You jerk back with a howl.
DAMN that hurt.

Isn’t that funny?
You would think that a small body part
would only hurt a little.
But your whole body seemed to feel the pain of the pinkie.

Now let’s turn this whole concept around.
What if you hit somebody in the nose
and smashed it like…it was a pinkie.

Weird.

But if you did it the right way
the whole body would feel the pain of the nose.

The trick is,
nobody does it the right way.
Everybody hits like they are trying to displace the whole body.
Move the whole body in space.
But what if you hit a small part of the body,
broke a rib…like it was a pinkie.
Hit somebody in the belly,
but only like you are…breaking a pinkie.

I know,
it sounds stupid.
It sounds like a comic book,
but…but there’s this little, niggling pice of WTF? in your mind right now.

So think about it like this.
If you hit somebody in the chest,
like you are trying to move their whole body,
then the whole body feels it,
and pushes energy into that spot.
Strike is negated.

But if you hit precise,
focus on a pinkie sized area,
AND IGNORED THE REST OF THE BODY!
It would be like breaking a pinkie.
The body couldn’t get behind it,
and yet the whole body would feel it.

That is focus in the martial arts.
Real focus.
Focus beyond tightening the fist in space…
focus of energy in a precise spot on the opponent’s body.

So what got me thinking about this?
I was watching youtube.
I was specifically looking for Heian Five techniques.
I came across this lady champ,
did her own series,
incredibly good looking kata,
and yet,
when she focused her punch,
it wobbled all over the place.

All the muscles in the body tightened,
but it was more like they spasmed.
Not like the whole body entered into her fingers.

And there were other things wrong with her form.
The back leg of her back stance pointed to far to the side,
like it was a half horse/half back stance.
There were timing gaps in her motions,
very significant,
but broke the CBM (Coordinated Body Motion) of her form.

And I thought about the way we did form at the Kang Duk Won.
Every move was a simple move from one place to another,
designed for use in a fight,
no timing gaps designed to impress tournament judges.

So, I was saddened.
Fantastic champ,
knew her stuff,
but the stuff she knew was wrong.

Don’t get me wrong,
I’m sure she gets all sorts of benefits from the forms,
and she is a champ,
probably knows her freestyle like crazy.

BUT, she will never understand perfection of form,
or even understand what perfection of form is,
or that it can be.

Well,
I’ve defined it for you in the various courses.
Shown the angles and motions,
described the how and why so it can work in freestyle.

But if you’re interested in classical karate,
which is a good base for ANY art,
then try Temple Karate.

Temple Karate is the old Kang Duk Won forms I learned
almost 50 years ago.
It was 90% perfect then,
and I’ve done little matrixing tweaks,
to bring it to 100%.

The Dirty Truth About the Real Martial Arts

A Martial Arts Dirty Word!

Happy New Year!
And a dirty word to you.
A dirty word?
But…which dirty word?

The word is…
ATARAXIA.

I will explain why it is a dirty word later.
Right now,
let me say that,
dirty or not,
it is the one word you should know,
especially if you wish to be
a real martial artist.

I do want to warn you,
that if you’re not prepared for a little concentration,
a bit of hard thought,
and the willingness to look your face right in the mirror,
you better skip this newsletter.

Here we go.

Ataraxia is derived from Greek.
it means…
‘not disturbed.’
It is freedom from distress and worry.

Or,
A state of serene calmness.

This is not just a philosophical word.
Philosophy,
as in dry old men
who sit around and talk about life.

This is freedom from worrying about
whether some fellow is going to attack you,
whether your car is going to make it to work,
or even where your next meal is coming from.
Heck,
it is even freedom
from the fellows in Washington,
who do their best to disturb
any tranquil state of the soul.

And here’s the real definition.

Ataraxia is an untroubled and tranquil condition of the soul…
THE IDEAL STATE FOR SOLDIERS ENTERING BATTLE!
(Caps mine.)

But,
we have just scratched the surface of the word.

Dig in a little deeper and we have…
‘live life modestly,
gain a knowledge of the world,
and limit one’s desires.’

Yikes!
That means you don’t need a Ferrari,
a cheap junker will do,
if it will get you from here to there,
which is the point of it all.

If you live modestly and seek knowledge,
you will become free from fear…
you will be happy.

But,
it gets even juicier.
A person who takes no position
as to what is good or bad
attains a state of ataraxia.
Good or bad,
you see,
is a judgment.
A person who judges others
has removed himself from humanity.

And,
yet more.
A person who pursues virtue
will achieve ataraxia.

So,
to become a warrior,
a real warrior,
possessed of virtues and honor,
you have to give up desires,
you have to stop judging others,
then you can become balanced,
and that balance will manifest
as a peaceful state of the soul.

Now do you understand why this simple word
is so important?
Do you understand why a year spent delving into it
will result in yourself as a higher caliber martial artist?

And,
of course,
a few work outs a day.
Work outs like in Monkey Boxing.
Every week you get more data,
old training drills that are now forgotten.
New training drills to fill in the pieces.
And an inspiration to work out.
To not stop.
To explore the martial arts
to delve into what makes you you.

Think about it like this,
think about this different way of looking at things:
if something bad happens,
you don’t get upset or emotional,
for it has already happened.
You don’t react,
but merely move to calm the situation.

And,
if you can do this,
then you start to see ‘disturbances’ coming,
and you start to act BEFORE the deed,
thus preventing a disturbance
to your ataraxia,
and helping others to achieve
this ideal state of spirituality.

That’s how it all works.

So why is Ataraxia a dirty word?

Because saying ‘dirty word’ makes people look.
I got you to look.
Hopefully,
you will forgive my terrible deed,
and consider a life filled with ataraxia.

And here’s something really sneaky about this,
if i can inject a final word.

You saw the term ‘dirty word,’
your mind reacted,
and you were compelled.
Not very ataraxic,
eh?

And the solution is to pursue ataraxia
if you wish to overcome
being a victim
to ‘anti-ataraxia.’

I was Attacked on Christmas!

Yes,
the martial arts killed Christmas.
In fact,
it was me,
with my martial arts
that killed Christmas.
Killed it dead.
Dead a poisoned rat in a trap dropped in a well.
Here’s how it happened.

Back in 1974,
I had just gotten my Black Belt.
I was in phenomenal shape,
the martial arts had turned on
all sorts of abilities for me.
I had a sixth sense open up,
I could feel when people were going to do things,
I could sense things around me,
I moved through the world
a warrior unbound.

My wife and I lived in a small house in Redwood City.
There was an upstairs and a downstairs.
It was so compact
that the bathroom was under the stairs.

One night I awoke,
felt the need to relieve myself.
Half asleep,
stumbling through the dark,
I descended the stairs.
I turned through the living room
and headed for the bathroom.

Suddenly,
a shape rushed at me!
It was dark,
but I could feel the motion.
I spun into a classical move,
and chopped with perfect form.
The intruder crashed against the wall.
One chop,
and he was down and out!
Now that’s good martial arts,
I thought,
and I turned on the light.

The Christmas tree lay a ruin.
Every ornament was flung from the tree,
little bulbs lay in shards,
scattered across the floor

The lights,
needless to say,
no longer worked.

The cheery, little angel
that had topped the tree
was smacked against the wall
and lay in ruins.

Half asleep,
I had snagged the Christmas tree cord with a foot,
and pulled the ‘intruder’
down upon myself.

Still,
I had defended myself rather adequately,
don’t you think?

I remember a time in an Aikido class,
when the instructor had talked about
using the sixth sense to protect oneself,
but not being so violent,
that Grandma had to worry,
when she walked up behind you
and tapped you on the shoulder.

Well,
I understood that one.
And I understood that I had a lot more to go,
a lot more to learn,
past black belt.

Heck,
getting a black belt is just the start.
That’s like graduating from high school,
and there’s all sorts of college ahead of you,
advanced studies in rare fields.

A lot to look forward to.

Unfortunately,
there are those that quit the martial arts
after getting their black belt.
They have nothing to look forward to.
Or at least didn’t,
until the Matrixing courses came out.

Now,
even if it’s been a few years
since you worked out,
you can jump back in the game,
study those rare fields of knowledge.
Learn Shaolin,
figure out this ‘chi’ business,
study weapons.

And you can do it logically,
without all the mystical bullstuff
that infects most martial arts.

Well,
up to you.
It is Christmas
(HanaKwanMass)
however,
so you might think about getting yourself
a nice present.
A present like a whole martial art.
How about Shaolin?

before we get back to matrixing,
explain a few things.

Matrixing is the science,
the logic,
the whole martial arts.

Monkey Boxing is the art I developed,
after decades of practice,
for true self defense.

In Matrixing
I go into the real reasons behind the martial arts.

In Monkey Boxing
I go into Monkey Boxing for self defense,
for reality and combat.

In Matrixing
I impart the knowledge of the martial arts.

Monkey Boxing
is for fighting.

But that doesn’t mean Matrixing is not for fighting.
Don’t get that wrong.

Matrixing can be applied to all martial arts,
bring them together,
allow one to see the truth behind their martial arts,
and fix them if need be.

Monkey Boxing is the art I developed for fighting.
It is how I teach,
How I apply myself to combat.

You will find pure knowledge in matrixing
and be able to apply it to any martial art,
and therefore fix that martial art.

Monkey Boxing develops
speed, power and technique,
in the realm of combat applicable martial arts.

Both are real.

You’ll find more drills and exercises in Monkey Boxing,
and the drills and exercises are aimed at improving
speed, power and technique.

Matrixing will give you drills and exercises,
but the drills and exercises are aimed at
building a complete art,
no mistakes or hesitations,
no problem dealing with arts other than yours,
because you understand how all arts work.

Monkey Boxing is the fastest way I know
to take out a suicide bomber,
disarm a Jihadist,
or just handle somebody protesting in the streets
and who got carried away.

I hope this makes sense to you.

Both approaches are valid,
both have fantastic impact.

But they are for different purposes.

Let me put it baldly.

If you want knowledge,
if you want to see the martial arts as a whole picture,
if you want the understanding
of how all arts fit together,
if you want to understand self-defense and fix your art,
go do matrixing.

If you done all the matrixing,
or,
you just don’t give a darn about all that stuff,
and want to learn the fastest,
quickest,
most efficient way of slaughtering an attacker,
of rendering a thug to the mud,
of unconsciousizing a terrorist,
do Monkey Boxing.

Yes,
you can do both at the same time,
but that isn’t the point of this newsletter,
the purpose of this newsletter is just to delineate the arts,
to separate Matrixing from Monkey Boxing.

I will be announcing Monkey Boxing releases
in this newsletter,
but I will probably be putting that info
into a side panel.
Or you will have to periodically check in with

Monkey Boxing

The main thrust of this newsletter

Pa Kua Chang and Indian Stealth Skills!
part one

Good evening!
I just finished teaching,
2 1/2 hours of bliss,
and I am in heaven.
Let me share a little of that heaven with you.
Here’s one of the things I was thinking about,
which relates to the martial arts.
Specifically,
how Pa Kua Chang relates to the stealth skills
of the native American Indians.

The American Indians were arguably
the greatest light infantry in the world.
They could outrun horses,
they had thoroughly mastered such weapons as
bows and arrows, knives, hand to hand, and so on.
And, they were masters of stealth.

Think about this:
to put food on their table
they had to be able to sneak up on wild animals.
This meant they walked with no noise,
don’t rustle a leaf,
or step on a twig.
Do it so well that a deer won’t hear you.
Have you ever seen how big a deer’s ears are?

The way they walked was very specific.
They did not walk heel to toe,
they did not place their heel down first,
the placed the front of their foot down first,
so they could feel a twig,
or any other surface that was going to cause noise
sufficient to alert an animal.
So they placed the front of the foot down first,
then rolled to the heel,
and they were aware,
feeling with their feet,
sensitive to whatever they were walking on.
And they walked fast enough to close on an animal
before the animal went elsewhere to feed,
and without alarming the animal.
That takes incredible skill.

Interestingly,
this method of walking is very similar to the way
students of Pa Kua Chang walk.
The precise way of walking in Pa Kua Chang
is to place the whole foot down,
gently,
sensing the ground through the feet.
This eliminates slippage on icy, grassy, wet whatever surfaces.
Further,
it breeds silence.
Further,
it enables the student to grip the ground.

This method of walking
is commonly called ‘Mud Walking.’
Walk so you won’t slip in mud.
Walk silently,
with no wasted (as in audible) energy.

There are differences here,
but here is the point:
both methods are used to build awareness.

It is awareness that makes a better martial artist,
not muscles,
not speed,
not anything else.
It is awareness,
of environment,
of the opponent,
of whatever is going on around you.

It’s funny,
when I hear people refer to Indians as savages
I have to suppress laughter.
They adapted to their environment,
they built a technology
that made them possibly the finest warriors in the world.

If you just study them,
if you consider how you might use their methods,
how you might improve your awareness,
you will find that they were geniuses of combat.

Now,
let’s be honest,
I haven’t studied Indian combat methods in depth,
but I have studied methods that closely align.

What is Behind a True Punch!

The first time I ever actually hit someone I was shocked.
I had trained for 20 years, and I actually had no idea
what it was like to hit somebody for real.
Then I had to,
and it totally changed me.

Here’s the deal:
to understand what I am about to say
you have to understand one thing:
what is a punch?

People say it is how hard you hit somebody,
they say all sorts of things,
but I haven’t heard anybody tell me the one thing
that I experienced on the day
I actually had to hit somebody.

Go on,
google it,
see if you can find out the truth
of what it is like to hit somebody.
I’ll wait…
.
.
.
.
.
Okay,
you’re back,
here’s the truth of a punch.
A punch depends on the transference of weight
from one body to the next.
It’s not how hard you hit.
It’s not how fast,
or anything else like that.
It’s how much weight you deliver.
Now,
those other things can enter the equation.
But,
the truth is…
how much weight can you put on the sucker’s body?
Can you put so much weight the other guy’s body breaks?
Can you control the weight so it is a push and not a punch?
Are you stuck in push,
instead of punch?
Does air punching really work?

Interesting questions,
especially once you have tried to do a real punch.

When I struck this fellow
I felt weight go through my wrists.
Because I was grounded he flew back,
went over a bed and hit the wall.
Thank God for grounding.
Thank God I had practiced aligning my bones,
because if I hadn’t I might have broken my wrist,
I might have flown away from that guy from my own punch!
I just didn’t understand.

BUT,
that one punch,
and I understood.
So,
try this special exercise.
We used to do it back in the sixties,
had no clue what it meant,
and it wasn’t until I actually had to hit somebody
that I understood what the drill was for.

Assume the push up position.
Go from the hands to the fists.
Just a little push,
like you’re going to clap your hands,
but then land on your fists.
Palms,
fists,
palms,
fists.

Don’t do too many at first.
Build up a little.
Do it from a knees down push up at first,
if you have to.

What happens here is that you get
the sudden shock of weight
going through your fists and wrists,
and that is what it is like to hit somebody.
A sudden shock of weight in the wrists…
and through the rest of the body.
You ground,
you root your stances,
so that you are braced upon the earth,
and he will fly away,
and not you.
You have a straight bone line in your wrists
so you can absorb the weight.

The actual weight here is going to depend on who weighs the most.
If he weighs more,
you will fly back.
But,
even if you weigh less,
if you ground,
if you are braced upon planet earth,
then he will fly away.
Or,
if you punch with speed and snap,
the impact will ripple through his body
(imagine slapping a pond of water with your hand)
and cause great damage.

Here’s a matrix Karate Kick

Try that,
adapt it to other parts of your practice,
and let me know what happens.

is a condensation,
a blend,
of Matrix Karate and the Shaolin Butterfly.
The story behind it is interesting.

I walked into a martial arts school,
asked the guy if I could help,
and he said yes.
The school is pretty good.
Probably real good,
but they were teaching martial arts without forms,
specializing in freestyle.
The freestyle was,
depending on which class was taught,
points, MMA, or Jujitsu.
Quite interesting.

So I started helping,
and eventually came up with an interesting idea:
how to teach with fewer, smaller forms.
I used the shorter Butterfly forms,
and the Houses from Matrix Karate.

So far,
it is REALLY working.

Mind you,
I always advise the complete art,
in this case the complete Matrix Karate,
or the complete Shaolin Butterfly,
but considering that the school was established,
considering that I didn’t want to change things,
just enhance them,
you can understand what I was doing.

Anyway,
the book should be out in the next week or so.

How to Video Test for the Martial Arts!

Nice quote, eh?
Let me explain it,
in humanistic terms,
and martial arts terms.
I’m going to go far afield on this one,
so stay with me.

We have a severe homeless problem in my town.
The police have described the homeless as in three categories.
The categories are:
can, can’t, won’t

This is probably not a very good categorization,
but is adequate for the needs of police work.
Simply:
the ‘cans’ would like to work,
but they don’t have the opportunity.
Society has left them behind,
they don’t have the skills,
they don’t understand what has happened to them.

the ‘can’ts’ are merely unable to work.
Handicapped, mentally handicapped, etc.

the ‘won’ts’ are able to work,
but they won’t.
It is easier to live like parasites,
stealing and begging.

Okay,
so how do we fit this categorization into the martial arts?

The cans are able to learn,
but they don’t know where to go,
who to trust,
and they are beset upon by the naysayers,
the people with opinions and no facts
who badmouth everything.

The can’ts are unable to learn.
They have locked themselves into systems
and can’t see beyond those systems.
The ‘My art is best’ sort of thing.

The wont’s are the naysayers.
They are the ones who have opinions but no facts,
and their opinions are invariably:
‘that art is screwed up,’
‘that guy doesn’t know anything,’
and,
of course,
‘Al Case sucks.’

So how do you learn
in a culture filled with those types of personalities?

It requires strength of character
to ignore the naysayers,
separate yourself from a few paltry bucks,
and go get a martial arts book,
a martial arts video,
a martial arts course.

That’s all.
It’s that easy.
But how many people actually have the requisite strength of character?

So if you do have the strength of character,
let me describe what happens
when you do video training with me.

1) You need the course you want to test on.
2) You need the Master Instructor Course.
3) You need to send me a legible video.

At the current time,
I’m not even charging!
FREE!

The fact of the matter is that once people do my courses,
see how logical and common sense matrixing has made the martial arts,
once they do the Master Instructor course,
and understand the actual physics behind the martial arts,
it usually only takes a couple of videos to pass.

Of course,
therein lies my error.
I should be charging hundreds of dollars.
I really should.
Compare the price of three or four years training,
to three or four months of actual accumulation of knowledge.
And,
to be honest,
when I do have sufficient people testing by video
my prices will go up.
When my time starts getting used,
I charge for it.

Here’s something to think about.
In the beginning there was no such thing as black belt.
In the beginning
you picked up techniques where you could,
practiced with whoever,
and only your passion drove you on.

So what I am selling is knowledge.
Knowledge for those who have the passion to be ‘cans.’
Who can say:
I CAN DO THAT!

All others need not apply.

The point here is this:
do you want to learn?
Do you want the real knowledge,
the actual physics,
the logic that makes it all work,
the art?

Do you?
Then you have to be more than:
a ‘can,’ a ‘can’t,’ or a ‘won’t.’
You have to be a:

I CAN DO THAT!

Then you just do it.
You don’t listen to people who say I suck,
you find out for yourself.

You order the two courses,
you find a partner.
(Partners required unless you have enough experience.)
and you indulge your passion,
and you finally,
for the first time in your life,
learn the truth of the martial arts.

‘What kind of a person you are is up to you.’
