How Build Martial Arts Super Powers!

Achieving the supernatural in kung fu

Supernatural in kung fu, refers to such things as reading minds, intuition, seeing when things are going to happen before they happen, And so on.

The reason people have such trouble in gaming this high level of martial arts is because of a basic misunderstanding of who and what they are.

sci fi horror story

The body is an envelope for the spirit.

The mind is just a bunch of memory.

The spirit is the source of all supernatural ability in the martial arts.

The misunderstanding comes when people attribute their abilities to mental powers.

Memory has no powers, memory obscures he human being, which obscures a being’s natural power. Natural ability, what a human being can do once memories are put aside is actually what we call supernatural kung fu.

Thus to say Power comes from mental abilities is completely the opposite of what they should be thinking.

Think of it this way, A person trains his body and this creates discipline in the soul. In effect it bypasses the mind, which is to say the memories, which come between a person and his true power and ability.

Understanding this one must apply this to the martial arts.

One memorizes movements, Which creates a short-term memory. One practices the movements until the memory disappears and intuition remains. The bonus is at the long-term memory tends to disappear to, Or at least to get out-of-the-way of the martial artist.

So you memorize to give up memory and what is left is the awareness, the Spirit, the human being, the ‘I am.’

When you give up memory, your own abilities come to the fore. These abilities, Based in such things as intuition, actually frighten normal people. That is why so many people give up the martial arts at the brown belt level, for that is the level at which a person breaks through to intuition.

Unfortunately, most systems no longer bring a person to the edge of intuition, or push him through to intuition.

This is why I created matrixing. It makes the martial arts faster, it makes the jump to intuition easier.

Instead of spending years trying to figure out the confusion created by a laborious memorization procedure, the student learns logical moves, builds up no internal resistance to the memorization procedure, and slides smoothly into intuition.

Check out monstermartialarts.com, and especially the matrix karate course there. Even if you have done martial arts for years, even if you know dozens of martial arts systems, once you experience the logic of matrixing, all those systems Will start to make sense and come together in a manner which you didn’t envision.

The Dreaded Peacock Kung Fu

A New Style of Kung Fu Fighting!

All right, there is no Peacock Kung Fu, but there should be! I live on a ranch on a mountaintop in Southern California, and I have observed the Peacock’s Kung Fu first hand. It really has some stuff that would make up a good system of Kung Fu.

First off, the male is the warrior. That’s easy to understand, what’s not so easy to understand is the bright plumage. Why bright? So it will stand out and be first target, thus allowing the female to flee. Thus, a valuable tenet of this fighting martial art would be to protect the weak, even to the point of offering one’s life!

Second, when the attacker goes after this medium-sized, beautiful bird, it suddenly becomes bigger! The tale fans up, and it is brilliantly colored and spotted with dozens of eyes! Thus, an attacker suddenly finds itself confronted with a large and obvious foe with lots of eyes! Heck, is this one foe? Or a whole tribe that has arisen to do battle!

Third, let’s talk kung fu tactics. Yes, a large animal, a mountain lion or coyote, could take this beautiful creature, in spite of the natural defense mechanisms. But, when confronted by, say, a snake, the peacock can hold its own. What this bird does is circle the snake. And, it usually has friends, as the whole family ‘dojo’ crowds around and begins circling. And, as the snake turns upon itself to try and stay with the motion of the foe, it literally winds itself up, gets confused, and then the sharp beak of this animal goes to work. Pecking and pecking, so fast the snake can’t keep up with it, the reptile is quickly dispatched!

Could it be that fabled gung fu system of pa kua chang is based not upon the snake or the dragon, but upon a middle weight bird with long feathers?

Lastly, it should be pointed out that one of the first self defense mechanisms, before the self defense methods listed above are called upon, is one of the fiercest kiais ever heard. The sound of this ‘spirit shout’ is like that of a GIANT house cat! It is loud and piercing, and designed not just to warn fellow peacocks, and thus to gather them for the common defense, but to frighten predators away!

In closing, there should be a peacock kung fu, because the peacock is not just an animal whose sole defense is flight, but a hardy warrior willing to stand up and fight!

If you think that peacock kung fu is a nifty concept, then you should examine the Shaolin Butterfly, it is an art which brings forth fighting attributes and a calm spirit in a human being.

Boy Wears Tin Skull Cap to Avoid Shaolin Gung Fu!

Kung Fu Builds Strong Minds!

Yes, unbelievable but true, a young boy, who definitely didn’t want to learn Shaolin Gung Fu, has taken to wearing a tin skull cap.
The boy’s father apparently wanted to teach him good Shaolin, and he would say things like, ‘if you don’t study martial arts you will have a weak mind, then the government will control you with their radio frquencies.’
The boy thought that if he wore a metal cap as protection against the radio waves he wouldn’t have to study kung fu. Which is to say, he wouldn’t have to have a strong mind.

karate kung fu pa kua chang martial arts book

The Best Way to Learn Shaolin Gung Fu! Click on the Cover!

The scientific truth behind this odd tale is that the body is a like a machine, and the brain is like a radio station.
Unfortunately, the radio station ‘brain’ is victim to so much static that it starts to generate its own static. The old ‘garbage in garbage out’ theory.

A study of Kung fu, such as Shaolin, focusing the mind on ‘one thing,’ will train the individual to ignore the static, and the mind will come under control, and then the radio frequencies broadcast by the government will pass right through the ‘empty mind.’

The static that is absorbed by the brain can actually come from several sources.
Drugs tend to unfocus the individual, encouraging a form of static.
The government puts out special frequencies at places across the globe in order to control mankind on a mass level.
Even education is a culprit in this sad saga, as modern education is so lacking in even basic common sense that the result is more confusion among students, rather than competence and clarity, resulting in an ‘educated’ population that will do as they are told, and not what is right.

Thus, the boy’s father was right, and the boy was wrong, but, if he persists in wearing a tinfoil beanie he will doubtless remain stupid and prone to distractions and become just one more ‘mind number robot’ having existence as a human being.

The solution? Study Shaolin Kung Fu, or Karate or Aikido, or any other form of body discipline…for to discipline the body is to discipline the mind.

A good place to start would be the martial arts lessons available at MonsterMartialArts.com. They are very logical, easy to do, and will cause the body, and mind, to become strong enough to resist any form of distraction.
Remember, good Shaolin Gung Fu results in strong human beings.

The Pa Kua Mystery

Circle

Do enough Pa Kua Chang and something really weird happens. Pa Kua, as many people know, is that martial art where you walk in a circle endlessly.

Circles where you find loops within spirals within circles. To explain this really weird thing that happens in Pa Kua Chang, let me explain a couple of things first. Understand these things, and you will find that weird is normal in this universe, and normal is weird. Okey dokey?

The circle must consist of eight steps from beginning to end. This is about one good leg sweep, or six feet in diameter. And, of course, the beginning is the end, and the end is the beginning, and so on.

Long time Pa Kua students claim that if you explore various positions of the palms as you walk the circle, that the positions stand for various phenomena. Fire palms, water palms, lightening palms, thunder palms, and so on.

By following this analogy they have created a separate and entire universe. While this universe can occupy a student for a lifetime, there hasn’t been a good explanation for what is happening, up till now.

When you create this Pa Kua universe, you should understand that the body is a machine. Just like alternating current, power goes down and up the legs. You should confirm it with a good dictionary, at this point, that power is energy, and energy is the capacity for work, and the capacity for work is how much weight you can lift.

Energy of the body is credited with being created by the tan tien. The tan tien is a point a couple of inches below the navel. The tan tien sends the energy down and up and the legs and back into the tan tien. What happens is that the body becomes a capacitor, a storage device, and the energy can be stored for later use. But also, and most interesting, is that after walking the circle sufficient with the idea I’ve detailed here, you will experience actual lightening going up and down your legs.

You will also, as you explore the potential of the palms in conjunction with the storing of the energy, experience a barber pole type energy swirl up and down your arms. Pa Kua is not mystical, it is common sense physics, but it does take a dedicated practitioner and a calm mind to experience what I have explained here.

For the body to start acting as a capacitor one must tell the body to do so enough times and with enough sincerity, and this while walking the circle enough times. If one learns to believe that this universe is not a trap, but a journey, what I have told you here is not only possible, but even easy.

Martial Arts EffortlessEnergy Through Neutronics

How to Attain Effortless Martial Arts Technique through Neutronics

How to strike with no effort, how to throw without using muscles, these are hallmarks of the highest level of art, but how does one do them?

Back about 1974, when I was undergoing some rather profound realizations, one of the things I realized was that the universe is backwards.

karate kung fu pa kua chang martial arts book

Incredible new Martial Arts Book! Click on the Cover!

I was involved in building power. Raw, crackling, tan tien exploding, face smacking power. With a capital P.

Then I watched my instructor, who was the most powerful person I have known.

No raw surge of energy from him.

No tan tien exposion.

No muscular exertion.

Yet his strikes would drop you with a touch.

Not a punch, but a mere touch.

So what was he doing?

He was creating silence, and here is the key.

The beginner, young and dumb and full of stuff, builds power.

But power is an illusion, it is temporary, it is something insecure people chase.

Real power depends on building space. Stillness within. Stillness without. A context that is the true power.

Which is there more of, suns or space?

The answer is that a candle in a coal mine is brighter than then sun at noon.

So I began going backwards, figuring out how not to make my punch stronger, but to make the silence around my punch greater.

This is a very interesting concept, and one that is TOTALLY ignored by today’s martial artists.

The obsession with tournaments, or belts, or money, and telling the student to punch harder, punch harder.

Where is the zen? Where is the ‘empty’ in Empty Hands?

So here is the point: the human body is a machine. On the beginning levels of the martial arts you overwhelm the machine by impacting upon it. On the advanced levels you merely unbalance the energy in it.

Unbalance, with a touch, to throw.

Or touch with a strike so soft that the idea of the strike, not the weight of the muscle bound arm, but the concept of being struck, goes between the two machines and ‘infects’ the target body.

This is how you get past the muscle theories currently infecting todays martial arts, and develop the true martial arts which require less and less effort, and accomplish more and more effect.

How to Stay Grounded in the Martial Arts

Sunday Morning and the Martial Arts!

My day of …work out.
On the seventh day he…worked out?
Something to think about, eh?

But,
remember,
you don’t get where you’re going
by being a lazy so and so.
You get there by being
a lean, mean, work out machine.

martial arts poetry

Neutronic concepts in verse…click on the cover!

So,
where are you going?
There are stages of development,
you know.

First stage,
how do you tie a belt,
oh, forgot to bow,
how do I remember what to do.
Man, this is a LOT of work!

Then you get to black belt.
Lot’s of signposts before then,
but it’s still one stage,
reaction time disappears,
intuition appears,
and you absorb some mighty powerful stuff.

Second stage,
what the heck do I do now?
Do I practice this one art?
Work my way up the higher belt levels?
Do I sample other arts?
What do I do about this attack of pride
that seems to have lodged in my soul?

Third stage,
what the heck is this all about?
Do you see the progression here?
It is all about finding answers.
First you want to fight,
then you want to learn,
and it’s always about making decisions,
finding your way,
accumulating data until…?

If you are in an art that is competition oriented,
your progress is often truncated
when you get to old to compete.

If you are in an art with no roots,
an eclectic art,
then you either go away,
or you start searching for roots.
Lot of Kenpo people get involved with this one.
I was heavily there,
back in 69.

Some people make the transition
from learning
to teaching.
This is good,
because you actually learn more when you teach.
BUT,
there are some very serious roadblocks here.
Have you answered enough questions in your own mind,
to answer questions in others minds?
Are you teaching because you love the art?
Or because you love the domination?
This is a hard one,
especially considering what the martial arts are:
a discipline for dominating.
But teaching,
real teaching,
is different.
It is not about dominating,
it is about sharing.
Makes it hard to balance discipline with having fun.
Love of teaching is not enough.
Many instructors fall into this category,
they love to teach,
and they aren’t very good martial artists,
but the authority of the position
is very magnetic.
Electric.
A close cousin to domination,
without realizing it.

The problem here
is that nobody really knows how to teach.
They monkey see monkey do
how they were taught.
They follow the same method
that has been used for thousands of years.
A method designed for people
who weren’t literate,
who had no logic.
And they do this
even though the system they are teaching
is being degraded by all manner of influences,
including and sometimes especially
modern teaching methods.

I got lucky.
I studied with a fellow who didn’t talk.
He smiled,
he laughed,
he offered no opinion
just let us learn.
He didn’t inject himself into the teachings.
I studied for near seven years,
In that time he said maybe a dozen things.

‘A tight fist is a heavy fist.’

‘There are many paths to the top of the mountain.’

And so on.

Honestly,
I don’t remember the things he said,
I remember the feeling when he stepped on the mat,
the electrical current running up my legs.
I remember stepping on the mat myself
and suddenly being swept up
in a desire to work out
that was unlike anything
I had ever experienced.

Nobody ever dominated,
because he never dominated.

Nobody ever got lost in odd explanations of why this technique worked because of the neural synapsis that fired when the fight or flight syndrome was engaged because of the direction of the attacker’s eyes when…

All we did was the forms,
and we tried things,
and when the things didn’t work,
he was there to show us what did work.

That was the essence of the education,
you know,
to find out what worked.

When you find out what works
it answers all questions.
When you are lost in explanations offered
by people who want to be teachers,
or fighters,
or something other than martial artists,
then you end up thinking that the things that don’t work
will work.
The whole class skews.
The art skews.

When you get the explanation for what works,
by being directed to do the form,
and to find out what works,
then you learn the art.
And,
then you aren’t swayed into mystique land
or lost in the illogics,
or lose your roots.

Your roots are you.
After you do the forms
the way they are supposed to be done,
in silence and looking for what works,
then you answer your questions,
there are no more mysteries,
and you are left with you.

A greater blessing has no man.

Anyway,
thanks for letting me rant,
hope it helps.
And there is always
The Master Instructor Course,
if you need a little extra
in the way of instruction.
Works for every student,
every teacher,
because it is grounded in how the universe actually works
and it is rooted in the truth of you.

Now,
have a great Sunday,
or whatever day you get this on.
Remember,
any day can be a day of rest…
any day can be a day of work out.

A Terrorist, You, and ONE Martial Arts Technique!

What Fight Ender Would You Use Against a Terrorist?

Okay, if you’re a politically correct soccer mom, go away. The girls are pulling your precious Johnny’s pants down and laughing at him.

BUT, if you’re not too delicate of heart, let me ask you a question. Here’s the build up…

martial arts instruction manual

The Ultimate Karate Encyclopedia!

You’re on an elevator. You are staring at your cell phone. There is a picture of a terrorist, and he is the fellow standing next to you!

Your heartbeat escalates, sweat bursts out on your forehead.

He isn’t holding a dead man’s switch, but you know, from the bulge of his belly that he is wearing a vest with explosives!

If you give him a chance, he’ll grab that switch, and that elevator will be on the fast track to hell!

He glances over at you, sees his picture on the cell, and now you know you must move. You know who he is…and he knows you know!

…so there it is. You have time for one, and only one technique. It has got to be a fight ender. You can’t risk him falling down half aware and reaching into his pocket for the dead man’s switch. You have to take him out now!

All the way out!

No second chances!

So what technique are you going to use? Describe it in detail, tell us where it comes from.

It can be from any martial art, or not from a martial art. You can only use weapons that a person might carry on his person and not get busted, and which you, yourself, normally carry.

He can have similar weapons, cause that’s only fair, right?

And, be careful, anything you say will be dissected endlessly, and you just know that some of them cruel Beavis and Butthead types are just waiting to mock you all the way to Bullshido!

So, how are you going to save the world? What technique are you going to use?

Well?

How to Find The Truth of the Martial Arts

It’s a Binary Universe!

I just finished a book, Matrixing Karate: Master, which is number five, and the last, of a series on how to Matrix the Martial Arts. It should be up on Amazon ina couple of days or so.

One of the last things I wrote I figured I would share with you. Hopefully whet your appetite for more; for the precise method as to how to get to this level of thought.

You can’t speak and listen at the same time.
Go on, try it.
What you’ll get is a garbledegook where you have to rely on memory, or mocking up the confusion you just experienced, to describe what you ‘heard.’ And whatever you said was premade and ejected without thought.

So, in the martial arts, you can’t attack and defend at the same time.
Physically, by the technique, you can.
But the frame of mind leading up to the attack or the defense, you can’t assume both frames of mind at the same time.
You either have to be in the attack mode, or the defense mode. You can’t be in both.
Go on, try it. If you succeed, it will be because of mental gymnastics, and not because of clarity of thought and calmness of mind.

What this does is make the universe into a binary experience; it makes it black or white…depending on whether you can isolate the difference between speaking and listening.

And, for most of us, this means you have to shut up.
If you don’t have to shut up you are going to be classified a ‘beta’ personality by the people in charge of labels, and life is going to be a frustrating experience of you being a victim.
But, if you can be ‘alpha,’ and I mean while you are actually ‘listening,’ then the universe is going to peal back for you and give up its juicy innards.

Most people, you see, are so confused, so garbled, that they run around screaming and shouting mindlessly, and then wonder why everybody in the world is so stupid that they can’t listen.

So you have to do your forms, calm your mind through this ritual, through this pattern of circuitry (I know, a bit redundant, but it is better said that way).
And you have to make yourself not speak, except in the most gentle and precise sense.

When you go into a hamburger stand, don’t ask for no pickles and extra ketchup and could they toast the bun not so much…just ask for a number one. And whisper, so that the girl actually has to listen to you.

When you teach, don’t speak. Remember, teaching by speaking is not listening, speaking too much while teaching and you won’t have any idea of whether your students get it.

Instead, summarize the teaching in one sentence, a short sentence, and then watch, observe. Listen. See if the student gets it. If you have to use two sentences then your teaching is lacking.

Okay, that’s how you do it. Though, to be sure, I certainly recommend getting a course on Matrixing, and the five book series, available on Amazon, called ‘Matrixing Karate,’ and further divided into white belt, green belt, brown belt, black belt, and Master appellations, is the latest and best way to get where you are going.

And where are you going?
To the truth. If you can just shut up long enough to hear it.

Have a great work out!

From External Karate Power to Internal Kung Fu Power

From Karate to Shaolin to Pa Kua Chang

A lot of people want to know how to go from external power in the martial arts, such in Karate or Taekwondo, to internal Power, such as in Chinese Tai Chi or Pa Kua Chang.

To help in that teaching I have just released ‘From Karate to Shaolin to Pa Kua Chang.’

This is actually three books in one. They have been in print before, separately, so make sure you don’t have them already.

The books are each about forty pages, making 120 pages, and they include forms, two man forms, techniques, and so on.

They are work intensive, which is as it should be; one should do the work if they expect to get anywhere.

That said, one should not neglect the theory, which tends to be obscure, but is, in fact, simple.

Reading these books is fun (the first two are actually written in verse), and the forms are easy to do.

What is difficult is to understand that the ancient language for things like chi power are really simple. The body is a motor, you need to activate it, and this takes discipline and awareness.

The awareness will grow as you practice. The discipline is what is tough, at least in the beginning. As time goes on, however, one finds that the martial arts are not a grind, but rather fun.

About myself: i have studied the martial arts since 1967. I became a writer for the magazines in 1981, and had my own column (Case Histories) in Inside Karate.

So check out ‘From Karate to Shaolin to Pa Kua Chang.’ It is available on Amazon. It is a real book, nifty poser artwork, and lots of fun.

Balancing the Martial Arts!

Balancing through Matrixing and Neutronics

One of the concepts I came across
early in the martial arts
was the concept of balance.

At first I thought it was
keeping your equilibrium, not falling down
while doing something.

Then I got into dietary things,
and ways of moving energy in the body,
but I didn’t really get it,
until I started doing Neutronics.

So you are standing on one leg,
the muscles on both sides of the leg
fire up,
trying to keep the balance.
It was a faster way of getting stronger,
bordered on Yoga.

And I started exploring other methods
of achieving balance.
When through stances,
balancing between the feet,
trying to find the tan tien,
trying to keep the tan tien working,
using the proper amount of push/pull,
especially when changing stances.

Went into how the body loses balance
when you extend limbs.
Requires a constant adjustment of balance
even while doing the most subtle motion.

Here’s the thing,
everything in life is a motor.
This is a basic neutronics principle.
A motor,
as defined in neutronics,
is when there is tension between two terminals.
Tension can be a push or pull.

So,
to take this thing of motors and terminals a little further,
let’s say you have a fight with the mate,
that means there is tension between,
and you have to figure out
how to balance the tension.

A fight means you are probably pushing towards each other.
That would definitely create tension.

So,
how do you cure a fight?
Well,
there are three ways.

One,
you fight harder,
you win,
the other person loses.
Yeehaw!

Two,
you give up.
The other person wins,
or,
if you really gave up,
the other person
has nobody to fight.

Three,
you agree with the other person.

Do you get it?
Either towards,
away,
or with.
Those are the only three directions
in the martial arts or life
in the whole durned universe.

A dog tries to bite you.
Do you go towards him?
Scare him?

Or do you go away,
hoping to outrun
the length of his chain?

Or do you…?
How the heck can you harmonize with a dog?
And this isn’t just a loose question,
as there are many people that are mad dogs.

To harmonize with a dog
you have to change your spirituality.
You become something that the dog doesn’t want to bite.
Not because he is scared,
but because he is suddenly transported out of fear.

You see a dog bites because he is scared.
A human fights because he is scared.
That’s an absolute.
Hiding in the heart of the biggest bully,
is fear.

If there wasn’t fear,
then the bully wouldn’t want to fight.
Think about it.

So a dog goes to bite you,
and you turn and look at him,
and you have nothing in your mind.

No reaction.
No fear.
He hasn’t made you fear,
thus there is no fear,
and then there isn’t any fear in the dog,
so he stops coming at you
except to rub against your leg
and look for a good petting.

Now,
here’s the interesting thing.
I was up here at Monkeyland,
one of the first times,
when we were trying to buy the property,
and the previous owner had a mean dog.
Three of us were standing in the drive,
talking,
and suddenly I feel ‘Buddy’
nosing at the back of my leg.
The owner takes in his breath,
I can see he expects the dog to bite me,
and I turn and look down at the dog.

He is caught,
and finds that there is nothing to bite.
I am not threatening him.
I am with him.
I understand his fear,
so there is no fear,
and he suddenly nuzzles against me.
Whines.
So I pet him.

But it all comes from understanding balance,
and this thing of neutronics
that there are only three motions in the universe,
towards, away, or with,
and that using these three things to achieve balance
changes you,
makes you impervious to fear,
or any other odd emotion or thought.

Look,
if you want to conquer life,
and by that I mean to agree with it (go with it)
until it does exactly what you want it to,
then you have to understand the other person,
and then you have to choose the right motion.
Towards, away, or with.

Do you know why some Muslims don’t like Christians?
Because they don’t understand them.
Do you know why some people are racists?
Because they don’t understand them.

So you could stamp the other person out,
and win,
or you could run away,
or you could find out about them,
study them until you understand them,
and thus be able to go with them
without losing any of your own beliefs.

It’s a simple thing.
Too simple for governments and politicians.

In the martial arts,
it’s not Karate over Jujitsu,
or
Gung Fu is better than Taekwondo,
or
Krav Maga is superior to Aikido…

It is studying each and every art,
until you understand them.
Then…
you can put them together,
blend them.
Know them all
without losing any of yourself,
or pride in your specific system,
or self respect.
Heck,
the truth is,
when you understand everything,
you gain in pride and respect,

When a person thinks his art is better than somebody else’s
all it shows is a degree of fear.
A wrong type of pride.
An ignorance,
and,
the worst thing in the world,
the inability to learn.

But,
it all comes down to this thing of balance.
Figuring out where the fight is,
where the tension is,
and then balancing the terminals
by choosing one of the three directions.

So,
if you are studying only an art that goes towards,
go to the monster
and find an art that goes away.

And,
if you are studying an art that goes away,
go to the monster
and find an art that goes towards.

Balance your arts,
until there is no tension between arts.
you will find that there is a resulting lack of tension
in your head,
in your attitude towards the world.

And,
if you already understand what I am saying here,
and you want to know more about this thing of balancing,
and choosing the right direction,
if you want to know the physics
behind every motion in the world,
outside and inside your head,
then pop over to the ChurchofMartialArts.com
Start reading a few of the books,
put them together with the martial arts.
‘Prologue’ is a good place to start,
as it is an overview,
then you can start getting more specific.
At any rate,
Neutronics will teach you how to always
make the right decision,
how to balance all tension,
it’s the fastest and easiest way
in the whole wide world
to help the people around you,
and to take over life,
to conquer it smoothly,
and make life do exactly whatever you want.
