About the Monkeyland Martial Arts Temple…

A Bunch of Little Things

Happy weekend!
It’s supposed to be a scorcher,
so bundle up in your winter clothes,
and do a real work out!

I personally believe that sweat
is one of the great curatives of mankind.
Sweat gets rid of toxins,
keeps the body functioning.

Now,
I don’t have anything planned this newsletter,
but I did have a bunch of things to mention,
and a question.

First,
I’m putting a bunch of books up on Amazon/Kindle.
If you’re prone to kindle,
then go to amazon
look for things like
‘al case karate,’
‘al case kung fu,’
or whatever.
Then click on the author’s name.
If you’re lucky,
you’ll get a big page with a ton of books on it.
If you’re unlucky,
you’ll get a few books.
Haven’t figured out why amazon works that way,
but it does.

The books include martial arts,
and a lot of novels.

Second,
Master Instructor John Newport
I’ve mentioned before,
has started up an association.
http://www.martial-art-association.com
I had my doubts,
expressed them,
and he put them to rest.
It doesn’t sound like the same old same old,
so if you are into organizations and associations,
his site might be the way to go.
The main thing,
he is more into establishing an organization
that functions the way the NRA does.
To give us clout as martial artists,
and to protect us from the government.
If you don’t want to get taxed and regulated to death,
which is what the government does,
check it out.

Third,
getting closer to Monkeyland,
fingers are crossed,
escrow is closing,
and…it looks like it is going to happen.
That said,
let me ask you guys a question.
I call it Monkeyland,
after a book I wrote,
in which good guys overcome bad,
and the blurb is…
Monkeyland…another word for freedom.

I like
‘another word for freedom,’
and so I attached it to the vision of a martial arts temple.
But,
does anybody else like it?
Care for it?
Dislike it?
The other name it will likely have
is ‘Nipomo.’
As in ‘Nipomo Temple.’

Nipomo is an indian word which means ‘foot hills,’
or ‘low hills,’
or some such.
Which,
if you’re handy with google earth,
will tell you something about the location we’re planning.

So,
do you like Monkeyland for a name?
Or something else?
Let me know…
this is your chance to vote.

Fourth,
I know I didn’t have anything planned,
but I wanted to share a win

Al,
Working through the fifth army of the Tai Chi form and I have to say wow. I took your advice and played the forms like a tiger, a dragon, a crane, a snake, a leopard, the whole bloody menagerie. I did the Karate forms like Tiger, Dragon and Crane. This is such a unique experience that I just had to tell you that one section of the Tai Chi course can make 20 some odd years of Tai Chi training something revolutionary. I can play all the Shaolin five animals regardless of forms and I think really that is what the Shaolin monks actually meant. Bravo Sir. Good stuff.

Justin H

Thank you Justin.
And to you fellows out there,
I pity the guy who does a form
only one way,
waiting for enlightenment.
He’ll have a long time to wait,
because he has no perspective.

If you do the forms
as Justin did
you will definitely have perspective.
And I think I’ve written a few articles on this,
but you’d have to ransack my sites to find them.
Fortunately,
I have search boxes in the side columns,
so you could just type in
‘five animals,’
or something like that,
and you might find them.
The three main sites are

Monstermartialarts.com
LearnKarateonline.net
freemartialartsonline.com

Now,
I think that is about it,
if you have thoughts on the name for the temple,
let me know,
have a great work out,
and I’ll talk to you later!

How Core Package Works, and a Matrix Kung Fu Win!

Newsletter 592

About the Core Package and a Win from Matrix Kung Fu

What a great day, eh?
Perfect for the work out.
I never get tired of saying
every work out is a prayer.
That’s because you learn to control yourself with a workout,
and you learn to focus your awareness.
And the secret to living life
with guts and efficiency,
is in cultivating your awareness.

martial arts discipline

We are all monkeys until…martial arts discipline

I want to explain something about the Core Package today.
The core package is four courses,
Matrix Karate
Matrix Kung Fu
Matrix Aikido
The Master Instructor Course.

The theory behind it is simple.
Matrix Karate begins the matrixing process on any martial art.
You do the course, learn karate,
but,
more important,
you have the basics of matrixing.
You then apply matrixing to any art you know.
You take,
say,
Wing Chun,
and you put it to the Matrix Karate Template.
You isolate the proper blocks,
and actually do the karate forms
with Wing Chun.
Or Shaolin,
Or Kenpo,
or whatever.
Doesn’t matter what art it is,
you can take it and insert it into the matrix karate template,
do the exact same forms with a different art,
and,
wham!
Your other art is matrixed.

So that’s the first course.
Matrix Aikido is a look at how to make a grab art
out of ANY technique.
You throw a punch,
somebody blocks,
and you do a simple concept,
and suddenly you have a whole new world
opening up for you.
Now,
it is is a wild and wooley world,
but it is open,
and once you step through those doors
you are going to need Matrix Kung Fu.

Matrix Kung Fu applies that concept to every joint,
breaks down every joint in the body
so that you have the proper education
and can understand exactly what you are doing
even when you are doing
something you have never done before!
And,
I should say,
it doesn’t matter which course you do first,
Matrix Kung Fu or Matrix Aikido.
The effects,
in the end,
will be the same.
You will be able to take ANY technique
out of ANY martial art
and make a grab art out of it
all the way to lock or takedown.

Now,
I should say more at this point,
I have a win to offer,
but let me tell you something about the Master Instructor Course,
before I give you the Matrix Kung Fu win.

The Master Instructor Course matrixes the body.
It doesn’t get all mystical,
it is merely a scientific breakdown
of how energy works in the body,
and you can use this to make your form perfect,
and your techniques perfect.
And I do mean perfect.
After you see the right reason for doing something,
you will give up your wrong ways
and focus on the right ways,
and you will be in an entirely different realm of martial arts.
The data on the Master Instructor Course is instantly usable,
and nobody,
and I mean NOBODY,
can argue with what I tell you on that course.
And the truth is this…
if a fellow doesn’t know the material on the master instructor course,
he isn’t really an instructor.
And I tell you this,
if you’re an instructor,
order the course,
if I’m wrong,
get your money back.

But,
some future newsletter
I’ll talk more about the Master Instructor Course,
what it does to a person,
and all of that.
This newsletter,
however,
I promised you a Matrix Kung Fu win.

Hello Master Case,

…I wanted to say that this Matrix Kung Fu is the best I have seen from everything that I have of yours so far! Furthermore, this course is the best course on throws and locks that I have ever seen due to its simplicity yet comprehensive nature. If a student learns these forty techniques then that student can learn any similar type throws or locks based on the foundation that Matrix Kung Fu provides. The only comment I would make as far as changing anything is that this is really Matrix Chin Na (which in my opinion is an excellent system).

The video is very well done, the techniques are excellent, the material is very original, and the step by step explanation is great! I practiced these with my black belt son first and then started to teach them to my Monday night martial arts students. The techniques worked great!

Thank you for the fantastic work you do!

Sincerely,

John
John M. Landry, Ph.D.

Thank you, John.
Your kind words inspire me.

And,
for everybody out there.
I’m not getting rich on this,
check out the price of the course,
it’s…cheap.
But the data is priceless.

The thing is this,
everybody out there wants to make money,
I want to get better,
and the ONLY way to get better in this life
is to make other people better.
To be a helping personality,
instead of a greedy or desperate personality.
That’s why I do what I do.
That’s why I keep the prices low
so ANYBODY can afford my courses.

Now,
I want you to consider something.
John did the course,
grabbed his son and said,
let’s go!
And,
he is now teaching others what he learned.

His teachings have improved,
and my real pay is…
his students are getting better.

And their students will get better.

And maybe I will have done something
in my short life
that is of worth,
that has value,
that actually helped people.

As I said,
that’s why I do what I do.

So check out the Matrix Kung Fu course here…
http://monstermartialarts.com/martial-arts/matrix-kung-fu/

Now,
a word…
It looks like Monkeyland is coming true.

120 acres on top of a mountain.
Absolutely idyllic.
Paradise.

We’re working hard on it,
and I hope to have an announcement,
complete with pics and plans
in the near future.

And,
at this point,
you can contribute merely by sending me
your kind thoughts and mental pictures
of what Monkeyland looks like.

Very exciting.

The most significant thing to happen in the martial arts
since the establishment of the Shaolin Temple.

So,
stay tuned,
and I’ll tell you more about it when I can.

Now,
time for you to do a work out!
Me, too!

Talk to you later.

Congrats to a New Martial Arts Master Instructor!

New Master Instructor!

Congrats to Master Instructor Doug Adkins!

Doug is a long time martial artist,

and he has experience in a variety of arts such as…

Shotokan, Kyokushinkaikan,

White Crane, JKD, Wing Chun, and so on,

and he has done much research in combatives.

Here is his win…

Dear Master Founder,

Thank you so much for sharing this great course, I consider it to be an excellent continuing education course for anyone involved in the arts.

Your course has brought back many memories of experiences I have had throughout the years, it has reminded me of things I had long forgotten, and has given me many new tools which I can use right now.

Many of us seek answers to questions we have by training in various arts but by utilizing the 4 principles, 4 powers, 6 secrets, the physics and mechanics you have shared we can look deeper into our own art and answer many of those questions. These points along with the listen and learn approach can be used in our daily lives as well as ‘be polite, be polite, and be polite’.

This course has been a great win for me as it has reminded me that we are all students and that it is important to keep an open mind, ask questions and analyze the things we don’t understand and even the things that we think we understand.

I have hit many different plateaus on my journey since I first stepped onto the mat in 1973 and I have needed a boost (or kick in the pants) now and then in order to keep going. This course was definitely the boost that I needed to enable me to climb that next mountain.

 Thank you,

Doug Adkins

Thank you Doug,

and well done!

And,

for all you fellers and gals out there,

the Master Instructor Course

It is the simple truth about the body and how we use it.

It is how to matrix the body,

and the simple things you learn

can be applied to anything.

It will change the way you lift weights,

the way you run,

every physical thing you do.

http://www.monstermartialarts.com/Master_Instructor_Course.html

It’s true.

Now,

that all said.

Let me explain one, little thing

about the Master instructor Course

One of the first things I started doing

back in the sixth grade,

when I saw my first anatomy chart,

after I got over the shock of genitals,

was to start going over the muscles.

I would look at a muscle on the chart

look at my own real muscle,

and consider what the potentials of motion were.

This muscle moves this limb this way,

and that muscle moves that limb that way.

This muscle pulls on that bone,

which counterbalances that muscle

pulling from the other direction.

And so on,

through all the muscles.

This actually helped me out

in physical education

once I got over my initial confusion.

My confusion resulted from

trying to focus on each muscle

while doing a complex movement.

I found out that understanding the muscles

helped,

but I still had to coordinate them all

unconsciously.

And it was sort of weird

to learn all this stuff

and then shove it into the background.

It was a great lesson,

and I wish I had known some martial arts or yoga

back then.

Now,

in the Master Instructor Course

I don’t talk about that.

I delve into energy potential,

and outline how you discover the energy potential for your body

and the only way you can use your body,

and it is the truth.

I know,

it sounds almost mystical,

but when you see how I define motion

and the trick I use for discovering the energy potentials

for the body,

you’ll sort of slap your head

and go…

Sheeeeeeeesh!

Maybe you’ll even wonder

why nobody ever thought of that before.

Well,

I don’t know.

But they didn’t,

and I did,

and the fact of the matter is this…

once you understand what I am doing

the things I am saying

about how to figure out the energy potentials of your body,

how to use your body

in an energetical sense,

it will change the way you move your body.

I mean,

you can’t go back to the silly old

pull the muscle move the bone

kind of thing.

It’s just so…

caveman.

Okay,

time to go.

You have to work out,

and they have to lock me in a closet

until the next newsletter.

But,

don’t worry,

it’s not lonely in there,

I’ve got me,

right?

Happy grin.

Now,

have yourselves a most wondrous week.

Drive fast

get lotsa money,

and…

WORK OUT!

Earning a Black Belt in Shaolin Kung Fu

Black Belt Kung Fu

I often get people asking me about certification requirements for the Shaolin Butterfly. Since Monster Martial Arts is one of the few totally valid schools for promoting people in such arts as Karate and Kung Fu, and this through the internet, I thought I should take a moment and answer the question totally and utterly.

dan rankingFirst, as with any courses I offer certification in, and that is virtually all the courses offered at the monster website, one has to get the course they wish to test for, and the Master Instructor Course. They then have to do the material, including applications, and send in (upload to private channel on youtube) their test. I will grade the test, using the specific course they are testing and the master instructor course for all corrections.

Now, obviously, one needs the course they are going to test in, but the Master Instructor Course is necessary because it gives the exact data that one needs to know to have perfect form and technique. This is provable perfection, and once one has the data on this course, no matter which art they might study, they will be as perfect as they can apply the data on the Master instructor Course.

Now, that said, there are nine forms on the Shaolin Butterfly. The first five forms are shorter forms with two man applications. Thus, one can take a beginner and drill him mercilessly, and the beginner will be astounded at how fast he is picking up the material.

When I teach classes in Shaolin Butterfly I usually refer to these first five short forms as the prelude to Brown Belt. This means that once the student has finished these forms he is solid in basics, intuition is starting to rear his head, and he has built a solid base of technique.

And, I should say at this point that I know that a brown belt is a karate term, as is a black belt. The correct term would be brown sash, or black sash. I use these terms interchangeably, for they stand for about the same thing in the personal develop of a student when you compare the different arts, and especially when you compare the arts once they have been matrixed.

I use the remaining four forms, the longer ‘nine square’ forms, for the brown to black belt period. These are rich forms containing the wealth of kung fu. The difference is that the older, more traditional forms tend to be random collections of technique. They are wonderful, even phenomenal, but by categorizing techniques through use of matrixing, and by condensing them into more efficient patterns, one can learn much, much faster.

I should say that I don’t go into weapons. The reason for this is simple…once one has learned good kung fu, and I emphasize the word ‘good’ here, then one can simply pick up a weapon and plug it in. Thus, I give students weapons once they have completed the nine forms, and ask them to do their forms (including two man forms, with the weapons. this gives an amazing depth to the art, and the student begins an education beyond  education, for he must make many decisions as to what works and what doesn’t.

Congrats to Another Master Instructor!

John Landry Promoted to Master Instructor!

Good morning!
And,
of course…
Work Out!

A great work out means a great you!
So get started now…
and don’t stop till you happen!

Okay!
A new Master Instructor!
Congrats to John M. Landry.

Here are some of the things he mentioned in his win…

This course is fantastic! I am a Ph.D. in Education and have practiced the martial arts since 1974. I have been teaching martial arts since 1989. I have been a law enforcement trainer and instructor since 1995.

The concepts of why students leave a school were very informative. Although I have never ran a commercial school, I have taught privately and pro bono at churches and the Salvation Army for many years and have wondered why so many students quit. Your course is causing me to think back and analyze.

The concept of Coordinated Body Movement (CBM) is awesome! I had never heard of that before this course but will use that practice in my own teaching and instruction of the martial arts from this point forward.

John then mentions several specifics of the course,
and continues with…

Overall, I am very impressed with this course and have learned a lot. I will utilize many of the concepts, principals, and methods of teaching that are presented in this master instructor course. I will also be purchasing additional courses to expand my knowledge of these principals.

Thank you Master Founder Case for the amount of work that you have done to put this course together and for your efforts in improving martial arts practice and instruction.

Thank you John,
and well done!

One thing I want to mention
is that John doesn’t waste time,
he got the course
went over it,
and wrote his win.

You don’t have to study for decades to become a real instructor,
you just have to know the right material.

Let’s say you want to drive a car
but you have never driven a car.
The gear shift is going to be a mystery,
what do those durn pedals do?
Why does the window go up and down when I press this button?

Then somebody gets in the car and
tells you to stop fiddling with that durned window.
Now,
press that peddle,
move the gear shift.
Let the pedal up slowly,
and slowly press on that other pedal.

In a short time you are driving.
Not a mystery.
How long did that take?
Five minutes.

And,
if you have any degree of time spent as a martial artist,
you have probably seen people teaching,
have taught people yourself,
and all you need is somebody to get in the car with you,
and tell you to stop fiddling with the window,
and tell you what the pedals are for.

Teaching can be that simple.
You just have to have the right information.

And what’s the alternative?
Do the same old same old teaching method
that has been done for thousands of years,
and watch your students leave in droves.

It’s been estimated that as many as 90% of the new students
leave within three months.
That means you have to spend ALL sorts of time
recruiting new students,

WHEN YOU DON’T HAVE TO!

You can keep the students you have for longer periods of time,
you can teach your students more martial arts!

Think about this one thing…
wouldn’t you like to keep students long enough
that you can teach them more than basics?
Wouldn’t you like to keep students long enough
that you can start teaching them the juicy stuff?

Guaranteed,
once you make this breakthrough,
once you start teaching the advanced stuff,
your world is going to open up!

So,
do the Master Instructor Course.
Get the correct information now!
Here’s the URL

http://www.monstermartialarts.com/Master_Instructor_Course.html

Now,
you may not have noticed,
but I’ve got a couple of courses offered for instant download.
Matrix Combat
Matrix Karate
are available,
Matrix Kung Fu should be done today or tomorrow,
and I will get the rest of the Matrix courses done
hopefully before I leave on
The Great Matrixing Tour.

And,
here’s something juicy…
for a while,
I am offering the courses at a discount.
Check out those pages,
and save a few bucks,
before they go back up to $30.

I probably won’t get to the other courses,
the non-matrixing courses,
at least not for a while.
So take advantage now.

And,
just to mention it again…
Hanakwanmass,
you don’t have to say that generic ‘happy holidays,’
and you don’t have to worry about offending some fool by saying ‘merry Xmas,’
now you can offend everybody equally and all at the same time!
Just say HanaKwanMass!

And don’t forget to get yourself
a Monster Martial Art course.
It’s the gift that you can use for years
and will change your life.

Start with the Master Instructor Course,

Now,

and have a great work out

Karate, Kung Fu, and the Geometry of the Universe

The Truth Behind Karate, Kung Fu and All Them Other Martial Arts

Karate and Kung Fu and Aikido and Jujitsu and Kenpo and…and, and, and…and all those martial arts, every martial art, is tied to the secret of the universe. And the secret of the universe is: GEOMETRY!

Funny, I was told once that geometry is useless, can’t be used for anything, dead art. Huh. I find it the most useful stuff in the world. Of course, I’m not talking about formulas and boring classes, I am just talking about…the square, the circle, and the triangle.

master instructor

I didn’t get smart by not looking…so look at The Master Instructor Course!

Now, these three shapes make up everything in the universe. ‘Scuse me if I yell, but…EVERYTHING!

That house is a square with a triangle on top. Those tires are round. A planet is round. The pyramids are efficient tombs if you want to house your dead remains forever, and so on and so on.

From the smallest atom to the largest structure in the universe, everything can be described, and defined, by these three shapes.

So I was teaching a martial arts class the other night, and these guys weren’t using their stances properly, and they could be shoved and moved, and I finally got fed up and told them that the universe can be defined as nothing more than squares, circles and triangles. And I said that if you’re moving you are a circle, the joints don’t just go back and forth, they have a rhythm, and the joints and the bones and all those sorts of things can be drawn as circles, ellipses, or even toruses (donut shapes). Then I asked the $64,000 question. So what shape describes stopping?

The answer is…the triangle. And the next few minutes of the class consisted of me pushing on them in stance and telling them…’Be a triangle! Be a triangle!’

They got it, and suddenly their stances became immoveable. King Kong and Godzilla combined couldn’t have moved those guys off their stances. And, strong stance, strong connection to the earth…their power began to build. You could feel the steam and pop of INSTANT POWER in their stances and in their whole, durned martial arts.

Now, I tell you this sort of thing, and ALL SORTS OF OTHER THINGS…in  the Master Instructor Course. I mean, I reveal the secrets of the universe and show you EXACTLY how to use them in The Master Instructor Course.

Now, here is the tragedy…most people reading this bit of writing get it, but they just shuck it off. ‘Oh, we have that inmy art,’ but THEY DON’T.

Nobody ever told them exactly what I am saying here. The instructor might have nosed around it, but he never said, THE SECRET OF A STANCE IS A TRIANGLE! Make a triangle in your stance and you can’t be moved, and you will suddenly feel an immense power growing in your stance.

But, they are loyal to their instructor and their art, and because they pay tuition they are lazy and don’t want to look beyond their instructor and art. They just browse the net and form opinions and NEVER LEARN ANYTHING!

Oh, it’s true.

Well, I hope whoever is reading this will print it off, read it for a day or two, think about it, make it work, and then GET THE OTHER HUNDRED SECRETS that are the simple instructions on the Master instructor Course. It’s more than a hundred, actually, because once you read and do the Master Instructor course nearly every student is compelled to take apart his art and examine it and remake it with the correct physics. It’s more like ten thousand secrets, which is the oriental way of saying infinity, or infinite number of secrets.

Remember, if you want to master Karate or Kung Fu, or Aikido or Tai Chi Chuan or ANY other martial art in the world, you have to read and do the Master Instructor Course at MonsterMartialArts.com.

Martial Art Testing by Video.

Martial Art Testing Can be Quick and Easy!

I really need to write a page on Martial Art Testing by video, but let me sum it up real quick here.

martial art testing

Martial Art Testing by video is the latest rage.

You need to get a copy of the course (art) you are testing in, and a copy of the Master Instructor Course. All corrections will be based on these two courses. No hidden data or nasty surprises.

You need to send a video of yourself doing the forms and applications of the art you are testing in. First video is free, additional videos I charge twenty bucks.

The fastest I ever had anybody do was two videos. I don’t think it would take more than three or four videos, however.

I look for your ability to make it work. I correct you according to the six points listed in the Master Instructor Course, or on the seven things necessary for perfect form listed, again, int eh master instructor course. That, and knowing the moves from your art, is what it is all about.

I send you a certificate, I don’t send a belt. It is up to you to find the belt that fits you.

Martial Art testing by video is a concept whose time has come. People are tired of the time and gas and other things necessary to attending a martial arts school.

Mind you, I still think schools are cool, and you should definitely find as many work out partners as you can. But, society is changing, the internet is the thing, and even martial arts testing can be done through it.

If somebody had asked me, even ten years ago, whether this would be possible, I would have said no. But now? Heck. It’s probable.

Take a look at http://www.monstermartialarts.com/You_Can_Get_a_Black_Belt_Online%21.html

It will give you ALL sorts of information concerning this, and even a case history of one fellow who did it.

This post has been about martial arts testing by video.

A New Martial Arts Master Instructor!

The world gets better, one master instructor at a time…

Yippee!
Friday!
The beginning of my weekend work outs!
This being good Friday,
I should have a good work out,
right?
Remember,
every work out is a prayer,
so make this weekend a prayerful one.
karate senseiOkey donkey,
a new Master Instructor!
Eduardo Fernandez is a serious martial artist
with profound philosophy.
Enjoy his win.
Essay
For many years I was drawn apart from the idea of using physical force. So, my youth was hard.
One day, I realized I had to change my mind or suffer the same consequences my whole life.
In today’s society violence is as present as ever, and it has evolved into very subtle ways. We fear who we think stronger, fitter, more dangerous.
Two ways depart from fear: the use of violence and the submission to violence. Both are harmful short and long term. This can be seen everywhere.
A third way runs in between and can be entered from any: this is the way of people who can use violence, but choose not to (has no need to). This is the true way one martial artist should aspire to.
Success as judged by common social standards doesn’t mean one has chosen the third way.
The problem only can be solved by facing it, though ego tends to distract us in all sort of manners.
The third category flows with life and circumstances and thus never allows a situation to grow beyond control.
In order to achieve high mastery, martial arts must be approached in a scientific way, and not as a weekend club or an entertainment.
The conventional knowledge about any particular field is usually wrong. Such an obvious thing as looking up to those who are farther in the path you currently walk can clarify this.
A veteran doesn’t necessarily know. He has only been doing something a lot of time, be it right or wrong way.
Most of the people don’t care if they are wrong or right, they just want to entertain themselves.
Not answering the students’ questions can lead to mysticism and is often used as a cover for ignorance.
Students shouldn’t be discouraged to explore as much as they judge necessary.
The ranking system is within.
No one should accept negligence disguised as philosophy or cosmogony.
One has to make its own way.
Stagnation of thought leads to corruption of mind.
The first time I asked how could I do the unbendable arm I was answered “What do you want to know it for?”. I could not answer. I just wanted to know it. I was not taught. Now, I have taught the unbendable arm to a lot of people, most of them with no previous training in martial arts, in a matter of minutes. In almost all cases they were surprised to see what they were capable of doing. It is a shame that such simple things are mystified by corrupt teaching methods, usually mistaken means by ends, and stopping development
Thank you Edward,
and he’s right.
You might start the martial arts
to become strong and powerful
and you will,
but the real joy,
the real benefit,
comes from the truths you learn,
that exist within yourself.
I know that one of the most profound moments in my life
was when I achieved black belt.
I had been studying martial arts
so I could beat people up,
and so I could be strong.
What I didn’t realize…
my lack of esteem,
my lack of self worth,
came from within.
The world didn’t look down on me,
I looked down on me.
And,
understanding this,
and suddenly realizing that
using what I had learned
I could really hurt people,
I had the thought:
I don’t ever really want to hurt anybody.
This was such a pivotal thought,
for it signified that the blinders were coming off,
that in a fight I was no longer going to withhold myself,
that I could put aside my feelings for humanity
and hurt somebody,
and…
I was willing to be responsible,
to take responsibility for that kind of power.
It’s not who you can harm,
it’s who you can help.
That is the real power of the martial arts.
So I thank you Edward,
your win is my win,
and the world becomes a better place.
One Master Instructor at a time.
Here’s the Master Instructor URL
Now,
I’ve got a couple of incredible newsletters coming up.
Got a couple of wins in the mail
that are just primo.
When people have these kinds of wins
it just makes me shiver with delight
and say…
God, I love the martial arts!
And,
after that,
I’ve got a rather special newsletter coming up.
Something about why I do the Monster,
what I’m really trying to do with Matrixing.
So,
stay tuned.
Now have yourself an utterly awesome work out!

The following quotes are total insanity, spoken by one of the world’s greatest martial artists. Guess who he is, and enjoy…

“It is not sufficient that I succeed – all others must fail.”
“I am the punishment of God…If you had not committed great sins, God would not have sent a punishment like me upon you.”
“The greatest happiness is to scatter your enemy, to drive him before you, to see his cities reduced to ashes, to see those who love him shrouded in tears, and to gather into your bosom his wives and daughters.”

Master Instructor Number 56!

Master Instructors Rule!

You know what makes this a great and good morning?
A new Master Instructor!
Before I give you his win,
let me remind you…
work out.
It doesn’t have to be hard, it doesn’t have to be soft,
it just has to cultivate your awareness,
that will make a better you,
and that’s what it is all about.

Now,
congrats to Master Instructor Terry Allen!
Here are portions from his win…

Mr. Case, I watched your dvds and they made me think not just about a certain technique or stance but about martial arts as a whole!  I see that one could learn a  style and take that style and mold it to hard style (karate) or transform it to a soft one (tai chi) and even mix them up and it would be his or her own. I use to hear from some more experienced people never fight angry! I tried but it didn’t always work but now I know why! To be angry is to fix your mind on one person or event and once the mind is fixed or focused that’s all you see it’s like having blinders on, (but) when one is centered and calm they are more flexible in mind and body, and let’s not forget connected to the earth as well. Born  out of (various) technique, there are endless others…it’s like taking the best of each style and piecing it together…your dvds keep me motivated, don’t stop making them…thanks again

This was a two part win,
here’s the second part…

It is a win for my mind, I see more truth in all styles now, I view martial arts differently. …I’m not in awe of the high flying acrobatics, I look at body, intention, feet, shoulders, body alignment…the body will give away the mind (so) now I’m going to practice ‘no style,’ that way I can hide my intention, it’s more of a mental game…if i show no stance  my opponents mind is sent reeling trying to figure me out, which leads to confusion and defeat. Al, my friend, you are part of a rare breed. Victory goes to the man that has perceived it!! Man you’ve helped me a lot!

Thank you, Terry.
You really make my day.
There is just a tremendous breadth to your win,
you cover a lot of areas,
and your points are precise.
Thank you.

And for everybody,
the purpose of the Master Instructor Course
is to analyze and handle the body
from an instructor’s point of view.
If you have little experience,
all future training will be easier and quicker.
You understand what it’s about even as your instructor shows it.
And,
if you have a lot of experience,
its even juicier!
The only person who isn’t going to get anything out of this course
is the fellow (gal) who thinks
they already know it all.
Look,
it’s a different viewpoint,
and that viewpoint uncovers the simplicities,
aligns the data,
and you are left with two exact things…
how to have perfect form,
how to make any technique work.
Once you have that,
all sorts of things shift.
You look at your forms,
and tweak them into true.
If you have a lot of arts,
you look at your arts,
and tweak them into true.
Whole arts.
That is the value of the information.
The Master Instructor Course
has never been done anywhere,
and it reveals the total and utter and exact truth
about form and technique.
Everything else is a variation on the truth,
and the more variation you have
the less truth you have.

Well,
I can only say so much.
If you don’t have the Master instructor Course,
get it,
and get the truth.
If you have it and haven’t experienced
things like Terry has experienced,
watch it a few more times,
work out,
the truth is there,
you just have to look at it until you see it.

Well,
sorry for the rant,
I get excited,
especially when somebody wins.
I want everybody to win.
And I want them to win all the time.
Period.

Okey doke,
news.
I’m thinking about the journal,
so I’ll probably write another one soon.
I’m just real busy with lessons,
shooting another course
(Shaolin,
incredibly advanced stuff,
energy by the bushel,
and what do you do with it?)
and trying to catch up on articles and blogs and such.
You will noticed
I’ve toned down the ads for the Three Month Black Belt Course.
I could feel that a lot of people
were unsettled,
after all,
they think I’m attacking the classical arts,
I’m making less of the people who have sweated for a half dozen years.
I am not,
and I know the people who have seen my courses understand what I’m doing,
I just want more people to win faster.
I want to open up the martial arts,
enhance them
bring them to a golden age.
But,
the quick viewer of my site
is sometimes put off by my claims,
so I tone down my words,
let them get closer,
and then slap the truth on them…
you can do anything you want,
you can be anything you want,
and you don’t have to wait a dozen years.
With the right method,
the right knowledge,
you can do it now!

Eventually,
the course will be migrated to another site,
working on it right now.

Anyways,
that’s what’s happening,
and
if you want to make better martial arts,
here’s a little trick i used to do.

Simply stand and hold up your index finger and stare at it.
The point is to hold it motionless.
Hold the tip still.
You’ll find that yo’lll have to hold your wholebody still to do this,
and this tends to back you up from your body a bit.
Too easy?
Okay,
then hold out a Chinese Tai Chi sword
hold the tip still.
When you can hold the tip still,
the spirit is still.

It’s funny,
I’m actually grinning as I write this,
because I know a lot of you will try it,
and I know a lot of you are going to be blinking by the end of the day.
Ha!
I love a good win.

Okey dokey artichoke…
you guys and gals have a phenomenal work out.
Bring the energy of that work out to the rest of your life,
smooth out your family,
excite your coworkers,
make the dog lay on its back,
and…
HAVE A GREAT DAY!
