How Core Package Works, and a Matrix Kung Fu Win!

Newsletter 592

About the Core Package and a Win from Matrix Kung Fu

What a great day, eh?
Perfect for the work out.
I never get tired of saying
every work out is a prayer.
That’s because you learn to control yourself with a workout,
and you learn to focus your awareness.
And the secret to living life
with guts and efficiency,
is in cultivating your awareness.

martial arts discipline

We are all monkeys until…martial arts discipline

I want to explain something about the Core Package today.
The core package is four courses,
Matrix Karate
Matrix Kung Fu
Matrix Aikido
The Master Instructor Course.

The theory behind it is simple.
Matrix Karate begins the matrixing process on any martial art.
You do the course, learn karate,
but,
more important,
you have the basics of matrixing.
You then apply matrixing to any art you know.
You take,
say,
Wing Chun,
and you put it to the Matrix Karate Template.
You isolate the proper blocks,
and actually do the karate forms
with Wing Chun.
Or Shaolin,
Or Kenpo,
or whatever.
Doesn’t matter what art it is,
you can take it and insert it into the matrix karate template,
do the exact same forms with a different art,
and,
wham!
Your other art is matrixed.

So that’s the first course.
Matrix Aikido is a look at how to make a grab art
out of ANY technique.
You throw a punch,
somebody blocks,
and you do a simple concept,
and suddenly you have a whole new world
opening up for you.
Now,
it is is a wild and wooley world,
but it is open,
and once you step through those doors
you are going to need Matrix Kung Fu.

Matrix Kung Fu applies that concept to every joint,
breaks down every joint in the body
so that you have the proper education
and can understand exactly what you are doing
even when you are doing
something you have never done before!
And,
I should say,
it doesn’t matter which course you do first,
Matrix Kung Fu or Matrix Aikido.
The effects,
in the end,
will be the same.
You will be able to take ANY technique
out of ANY martial art
and make a grab art out of it
all the way to lock or takedown.

Now,
I should say more at this point,
I have a win to offer,
but let me tell you something about the Master Instructor Course,
before I give you the Matrix Kung Fu win.

The Master Instructor Course matrixes the body.
It doesn’t get all mystical,
it is merely a scientific breakdown
of how energy works in the body,
and you can use this to make your form perfect,
and your techniques perfect.
And I do mean perfect.
After you see the right reason for doing something,
you will give up your wrong ways
and focus on the right ways,
and you will be in an entirely different realm of martial arts.
The data on the Master Instructor Course is instantly usable,
and nobody,
and I mean NOBODY,
can argue with what I tell you on that course.
And the truth is this…
if a fellow doesn’t know the material on the master instructor course,
he isn’t really an instructor.
And I tell you this,
if you’re an instructor,
order the course,
if I’m wrong,
get your money back.

But,
some future newsletter
I’ll talk more about the Master Instructor Course,
what it does to a person,
and all of that.
This newsletter,
however,
I promised you a Matrix Kung Fu win.

Hello Master Case,

…I wanted to say that this Matrix Kung Fu is the best I have seen from everything that I have of yours so far! Furthermore, this course is the best course on throws and locks that I have ever seen due to its simplicity yet comprehensive nature. If a student learns these forty techniques then that student can learn any similar type throws or locks based on the foundation that Matrix Kung Fu provides. The only comment I would make as far as changing anything is that this is really Matrix Chin Na (which in my opinion is an excellent system).

The video is very well done, the techniques are excellent, the material is very original, and the step by step explanation is great! I practiced these with my black belt son first and then started to teach them to my Monday night martial arts students. The techniques worked great!

Thank you for the fantastic work you do!

Sincerely,

John
John M. Landry, Ph.D.

Thank you, John.
Your kind words inspire me.

And,
for everybody out there.
I’m not getting rich on this,
check out the price of the course,
it’s…cheap.
But the data is priceless.

The thing is this,
everybody out there wants to make money,
I want to get better,
and the ONLY way to get better in this life
is to make other people better.
To be a helping personality,
instead of a greedy or desperate personality.
That’s why I do what I do.
That’s why I keep the prices low
so ANYBODY can afford my courses.

Now,
I want you to consider something.
John did the course,
grabbed his son and said,
let’s go!
And,
he is now teaching others what he learned.

His teachings have improved,
and my real pay is…
his students are getting better.

And their students will get better.

And maybe I will have done something
in my short life
that is of worth,
that has value,
that actually helped people.

As I said,
that’s why I do what I do.

So check out the Matrix Kung Fu course here…

Now,
a word…
It looks like Monkeyland is coming true.

120 acres on top of a mountain.
Absolutely idyllic.
Paradise.

We’re working hard on it,
and I hope to have an announcement,
complete with pics and plans
in the near future.

And,
at this point,
you can contribute merely by sending me
your kind thoughts and mental pictures
of what Monkeyland looks like.

Very exciting.

The most significant thing to happen in the martial arts
since the establishment of the Shaolin Temple.

So,
stay tuned,
and I’ll tell you more about it when I can.

Now,
time for you to do a work out!
Me, too!

Talk to you later.

Earning a Black Belt in Shaolin Kung Fu

Black Belt Kung Fu

I often get people asking me about certification requirements for the Shaolin Butterfly. Since Monster Martial Arts is one of the few totally valid schools for promoting people in such arts as Karate and Kung Fu, and this through the internet, I thought I should take a moment and answer the question totally and utterly.

dan rankingFirst, as with any courses I offer certification in, and that is virtually all the courses offered at the monster website, one has to get the course they wish to test for, and the Master Instructor Course. They then have to do the material, including applications, and send in (upload to private channel on youtube) their test. I will grade the test, using the specific course they are testing and the master instructor course for all corrections.

Now, obviously, one needs the course they are going to test in, but the Master Instructor Course is necessary because it gives the exact data that one needs to know to have perfect form and technique. This is provable perfection, and once one has the data on this course, no matter which art they might study, they will be as perfect as they can apply the data on the Master instructor Course.

Now, that said, there are nine forms on the Shaolin Butterfly. The first five forms are shorter forms with two man applications. Thus, one can take a beginner and drill him mercilessly, and the beginner will be astounded at how fast he is picking up the material.

When I teach classes in Shaolin Butterfly I usually refer to these first five short forms as the prelude to Brown Belt. This means that once the student has finished these forms he is solid in basics, intuition is starting to rear his head, and he has built a solid base of technique.

And, I should say at this point that I know that a brown belt is a karate term, as is a black belt. The correct term would be brown sash, or black sash. I use these terms interchangeably, for they stand for about the same thing in the personal develop of a student when you compare the different arts, and especially when you compare the arts once they have been matrixed.

I use the remaining four forms, the longer ‘nine square’ forms, for the brown to black belt period. These are rich forms containing the wealth of kung fu. The difference is that the older, more traditional forms tend to be random collections of technique. They are wonderful, even phenomenal, but by categorizing techniques through use of matrixing, and by condensing them into more efficient patterns, one can learn much, much faster.

I should say that I don’t go into weapons. The reason for this is simple…once one has learned good kung fu, and I emphasize the word ‘good’ here, then one can simply pick up a weapon and plug it in. Thus, I give students weapons once they have completed the nine forms, and ask them to do their forms (including two man forms, with the weapons. this gives an amazing depth to the art, and the student begins an education beyond  education, for he must make many decisions as to what works and what doesn’t.

Martial Art Testing by Video.

Martial Art Testing Can be Quick and Easy!

I really need to write a page on Martial Art Testing by video, but let me sum it up real quick here.

martial art testing

Martial Art Testing by video is the latest rage.

You need to get a copy of the course (art) you are testing in, and a copy of the Master Instructor Course. All corrections will be based on these two courses. No hidden data or nasty surprises.

You need to send a video of yourself doing the forms and applications of the art you are testing in. First video is free, additional videos I charge twenty bucks.

The fastest I ever had anybody do was two videos. I don’t think it would take more than three or four videos, however.

I look for your ability to make it work. I correct you according to the six points listed in the Master Instructor Course, or on the seven things necessary for perfect form listed, again, int eh master instructor course. That, and knowing the moves from your art, is what it is all about.

I send you a certificate, I don’t send a belt. It is up to you to find the belt that fits you.

Martial Art testing by video is a concept whose time has come. People are tired of the time and gas and other things necessary to attending a martial arts school.

Mind you, I still think schools are cool, and you should definitely find as many work out partners as you can. But, society is changing, the internet is the thing, and even martial arts testing can be done through it.

If somebody had asked me, even ten years ago, whether this would be possible, I would have said no. But now? Heck. It’s probable.

Take a look at http://www.monstermartialarts.com/You_Can_Get_a_Black_Belt_Online%21.html

It will give you ALL sorts of information concerning this, and even a case history of one fellow who did it.

This post has been about martial arts testing by video.

Monster Newsletter #348–New Master Instructor! (part one)

Good morning to you!
Man,
I’ve gotten some of them most incredible wins this month.
I’ll pass them out in the next few newsletters.
Really sweet stuff,
I tell ya.

But, let me say one thing…
Have a great work out!
That’s the secret of it all,
and I am officially reminding you
to do your work out
and more than just once a day!

Now,
biz aside,
let’s look at the win from the latest Master Instructor.
Congrats to Master Instructor Mike Casto!

I was a little reluctant to order because of the language used on the website. I have a reflexive aversion to sales hype. I read some articles of yours that I was able to find online, though, and they contained good info so I decided to give the video a shot.

Honestly, there wasn’t anything new for me personally. But I have been fortunate in my training. I’ve had some fantastic teachers and been able to train with some of the best in the world in their respective disciplines. As you point out, though, it took me ~25 years of training and experience to acquire the understanding. Your presentation of the material, though, was very good. Very straightforward and concise. For someone who hasn’t had the background I’ve had (either the duration or the world class instruction) that the material you present might be revolutionary.

The only critique I have is that you make a few generalizations that I think are too broad. One specific example that comes to mind is when you have Nemiah (sp?) in a lock I call “kunci jembatan” (Pencak Silat) but I believe Aikido calls “shiho nage” or “four direction throw.” … You have Nemiah in the lock and you say, “He can’t get out of this one. He doesn’t have the muscle; he doesn’t have the leverage.” While it may, in fact, be true that Nemiah can’t get out of it at that moment, there *are* ways to get out of it. I’m sure you’re aware of this 🙂 I’m not saying you’re “wrong” just that the generalization may be misunderstood by some people. They may interpret that as, “this is an unbeatable move.”

That critique is minor, though. Overall, I say kudos. This is a very good presentation of principles universal to all martial arts.

Also, as a writer/video editor/producer, I commend you on the video itself. While the backdrop is a bit busier than I would prefer it’s not overwhelming and doesn’t detract from the video or draw the viewer’s attention away from you. The presentation (talking about the physical presentation to the camera instead of the conceptual presentation of the material that I referred to previously) is good. This video is incredibly well done for a single, fixed camera setting. Kudos on this aspect, too.

Mike

Thanks for the kind words Mike,
and I appreciate the points you weren’t entirely in agreement with.
He is right,
there is no unbeatable technique,
there are just beatable people,
and this only if you do the work
study hard
and apply yourself.
And,
you better keep studying,
because that beatable person isn’t going to stop learning.

On a side note,
one of my favorite movies is Fists of the White Lotus.
The chump gets beaten up,
goes and studies martial arts for ten years
then goes back and gets beaten up again.
‘But how can this be!’ he exclaims to the villain.
‘I’ve spent the last ten years studying to beat you!’
The villain’s response: ‘I spent ten years studying, too!”
Heh heh heh!

Anyway,
thanks to Master Instructor Casto,
and I encourage the rest of you to study hard,
as he points out,
most people don’t have the benefit of world class instructors
over the duration of their study.

second half of this newsletter coming shortly.

Head on over to Monster Martial Arts and check out the master instructor course while you’re waiting.

Monster Newsletter #348–O-M-G! Another Master Instructor!

Wowzer Da Dowzer!
This has been the greatest month ever
for new Master Instructors!
Some of these guys are new,
some have been matrixing for a while,
but,
they are happening!
And I’ve still got one more to go…

Congrats to Master Instructor Frank Cole!

Hello,

I wanted to e-mail you and let you know how greatly helpful the Master Instructor course was for me.  I am a new Sensei and the teaching tools you gave me will go a long way in teaching my students.

My background includes a  lifetime of studying Martial Arts and self-defense, including Tae Kwan do, Jujitsu, and self defense courses.  Thanks again for the wonderful course, I can not wait to check out your Aikido program.

Sensei Frank Cole

Thanks,
Master Instructor Cole,
and well done.

Now,
I want to say something.
The Master Instructor certificate program is free.
I don’t charge for the certs.
I don’t charge extra for the Master Instructor program.
I just want to validate people who have the knowledge.
It costs me ink, paper, postage and time,
but it establishes a standard.

The idea here
is that the knowledge necessary
to truly be an instructor
is exact.
You either know it or you don’t
If you were an engineer,
what you need to be an engineer
is set in stone,
arguable by no one.
Period.

Well,
a fellow who has taken the Master Instructor course,
is an engineer of the body when it comes to Martial arts.
Period.
Set in stone.
You can’t argue with it.

Here’s the not so funny truth about this.
There are some people who actually know the data,
I’ve actually encountered a couple
in the over three years I have been doing Monster.
But that leaves about a thousand
that didn’t know the physics involved.
Some were high ranking,
some were multi art,
an awful lot of them had trained
under people who could be considered legends.

So 999 out of a 1000
don’t know what’s in the Master Instructor Course,
and that is just the state of the martial arts.

But I don’t point fingers,
I don’t tell people they are idiots and my art is the only one,
I just give them the data,
congratulate them,
and am glad that the level of art
is being elevated.

Hey!
They had enough brains and courage to look,
didn’t they?
And all that is really important is that they get the right data.
Period.

You see,
I am not here to make people wrong,
I am here to make the art right.
I am not the grand mucky muck
who wants everybody to bow to him.
I am an old guy
who likes to make friends.

When I come back to this planet,
I want the state of art
to be out of the stratosphere.
I want every teacher to be the best,
and I think the Master instructor course
can make this happen.

And it can happen as fast as you can read,
watch a DVD,
and run out on the mat
to see if what I just told you
is the truth.

Not years and decades,
but a few hours,
because this is knowledge,
and knowledge can be shared.

Yes,
if you haven’t worked out enough
maybe you’re a lower belt,
then you will have to continue working out,
sufficient to train your mind and body
to do the things that you know.

But the training will be easier and faster,
and you will be assured of a much higher chance
of reaching your goals.

Isn’t that what it’s about?

I remember the old saying,
‘The Truth will set you free.’
Well,
my old saying is,
‘Know the truth
and work becomes play,
night becomes day,
and you are on your way.’

Okey doke,
I’ve ranted enough,
got a couple of announcements.

NEW BOOK!
Keep an eye on the Monster homepage,
down at the bottom,
there is going to be something
in the next few days
that’ll blow your socks off.
Assuming,
of course,
that you are wearing socks.
Heh.

And,
if you received a copy of Matrixing Chi
without the following four items on it
Matrixing Chi (book)
The Candle (book)
Motoring Tai Chi (article)
Matrixing Dictionary (book)
then let me know.
Email me,
and I will make sure you get all four items.
My fault they weren’t there on all disks,
my apologies,
and my responsibility to do something about it.

Here’s the Matrixing Chi page
if you don’t have Matrixing Chi
then go there.

Matrixing Chi Book!

And,
if you were walking along and found a twenty dollar bill,
it’s mine,
please mail it to me.
Heh!

Now,
enough blather,
it’s time to start the new week
with a fantastic work out.
You guys and gals go sweat up a storm
and I’ll talk to you later.
