The Dirty Truth About the Real Martial Arts

Newsletter 846

A Martial Arts Dirty Word!

Happy New Year!
And a dirty word to you.
A dirty word?
But…which dirty word?

The word is…
ATARAXIA.

I will explain why it is a dirty word later.
Right now,
let me say that,
dirty or not,
it is the one word you should know,
especially if you wish to be
a real martial artist.

I do want to warn you,
that if you’re not prepared for a little concentration,
a bit of hard thought,
and the willingness to look your face right in the mirror,
you better skip this newsletter.

Here we go.

Ataraxia is derived from Greek.
it means…
‘not disturbed.’
It is freedom from distress and worry.

Or,
A state of serene calmness.

This is not just a philosophical word.
Philosophy,
as in dry old men
who sit around and talk about life.

This is freedom from worrying about
whether some fellow is going to attack you,
whether your car is going to make it to work,
or even where your next meal is coming from.
Heck,
it is even freedom
from the fellows in Washington,
who do their best to disturb
any tranquil state of the soul.

And here’s the real definition.

Ataraxia is an untroubled and tranquil condition of the soul…
THE IDEAL STATE FOR SOLDIERS ENTERING BATTLE!
(Caps mine.)

But,
we have just scratched the surface of the word.

Dig in a little deeper and we have…
‘live life modestly,
gain a knowledge of the world,
and limit one’s desires.’

Yikes!
That means you don’t need a Ferrari,
a cheap junker will do,
if it will get you from here to there,
which is the point of it all.

If you live modestly and seek knowledge,
you will become free from fear…
you will be happy.

But,
it gets even juicier.
A person who takes no position
as to what is good or bad
attains a state of ataraxia.
Good or bad,
you see,
is a judgment.
A person who judges others
has removed himself from humanity.

And,
yet more.
A person who pursues virtue
will achieve ataraxia.

So,
to become a warrior,
a real warrior,
possessed of virtues and honor,
you have to give up desires,
you have to stop judging others,
then you can become balanced,
and that balance will manifest
as a peaceful state of the soul.

Now do you understand why this simple word
is so important?
Do you understand why a year spent delving into it
will result in yourself as a higher caliber martial artist?

And,
of course,
a few work outs a day.
Work outs like in Monkey Boxing.
Every week you get more data,
old training drills that are now forgotten.
New training drills to fill in the pieces.
And an inspiration to work out.
To not stop.
To explore the martial arts
to delve into what makes you you.

http://monkeyboxingnow.com

Think about it like this,
think about this different way of looking at things:
if something bad happens,
you don’t get upset or emotional,
for it has already happened.
You don’t react,
but merely move to calm the situation.

And,
if you can do this,
then you start to see ‘disturbances’ coming,
and you start to act BEFORE the deed,
thus preventing a disturbance
to your ataraxia,
and helping others to achieve
this ideal state of spirituality.

That’s how it all works.

So why is Ataraxia a dirty word?

Because saying ‘dirty word’ makes people look.
I got you to look.
Hopefully,
you will forgive my terrible deed,
and consider a life filled with ataraxia.

And here’s something really sneaky about this,
if i can inject a final word.

You saw the term ‘dirty word,’
your mind reacted,
and you were compelled.
Not very ataraxic,
eh?

And the solution is to pursue ataraxia
if you wish to overcome
being a victim
to ‘anti-ataraxia.’

Here’s that MN link again.

A Buddha Crane Matrixing Win!

Got a great win from Timothy G this week!

martial arts training manual

Check it out ~ Click on the cover!

Hello sir.
It’s going well. Really well. Once I was able to connect Buddha crane with shuri ryu, the pieces began to fall into place all by themselves.
The Buddha crane is the foundation of the kihon waza, ippons waza and came into their own flow drills(taezus naru waza).
Making changes to the Kata isn’t as easy, but I have done the first few Kata. Even crazier, I found someone who has already blended shuri ryu with something. So, it came rather easy.
Upon showing him how I’ve made changes opened his eyes and he’s asking me to give him pointers on how to make his karate be more ‘alive’.
My shuri ryu master is dead and I never got the chance to get my black belt. So, I’ve gone thru these people I’ve run into and just from what I showed them they are willing to bring me to the black belt in shuri ryu.
I’m not sure if that’s even important now, being that I matrixed the whole art, but I do hope to bring this understanding of shuri ryu to the table. Thus, starting a new (sub) ryu to the family.
I couldn’t have done it without you. Osu

Thank you, Timothy,
and well done!

And for everyone,
please take note of a few things here.

The classical is not suffering,
drills and exercises have more flow,
which comes from increased understanding.

Making changes isn’t always easy.
Aside from the fact of understanding
the potentials of the martial arts
enough so that you can make intelligent changes,
you have to force yourself to change something
that you have come to believe in.

Changing a belief system is often the hardest thing
a man can do.

He shows his changes to another fellow engaged in changes,
and he becomes the authority.
Simply,
he isn’t just changing,
he has the knowledge,
and this is something that people really respect
and will adhere to.

Upon showing his changes to others
he is recognized as expert,
or having the ability to be expert.
Osu to you, Timothy.

And,
finally,
here is a very interesting question:
how important is the black belt at this point?
People going through these changes,
are gaining knowledge
and that is senior to black belt.

Maybe one out of a thousand people
that start karate
get to black belt.

But how many have the knowledge
to put together their own system or subsystem?

I encourage everybody to get to black belt,
but I encourage knowledge more.
Understanding is the most important thing you can ever get.
Period.

Thanks, Timothy,
your win is fantastic,
and I hope people understand
the trials and tribulations here,
and the incredible passion you have for the arts.

Here’s how I analyze forms. I do this for every move. Check out video courses at MonsterMartialArts.com. This particular technique is from Temple Karate.

Now,
I know Timothy has other courses and books on Matrixing,
but he mentions the ‘Buddha Crane’ book.
So let me explain something about that book.

That was the last book I wrote,
I believe,
before starting on Matrixing proper,
before doing all the matrixing courses.
As such,
I was using matrixing concepts hard and fast,
and I was developing a whole art
out of what I knew.
You can see me reworking techniques,
reworking forms,
trying to bring everything into a new slant,
or,
to be proper,
a ‘de-slanting.’
A truth.

Here’s the funny thing,
the book was actually just a ‘toss in,’
a bonus,
on the ‘Create Your Own Art’ course.
I wanted to show how I was creating an art,
give an example
to back up the theories I was pushing.
The book is PDF on the Create Your Own Art Course.

You can,
I believe,
get it on Amazon,
if you look around you can find it.
You can also get it here…

https://www.createspace.com/4577595

That’s my publishing company,
so I get a bigger royalty
if you get it there.

That page I just gave you
has a complete write up
on what is in the book.
And,
the Createspace version is paperback,
which most people prefer,
because it’s easier to walk around with the book,
than carrying a computer around
while you practice.

And,
a final word,
the illustrations are most interesting,
I wrote it on an old mac,
and the software was something called Appleworks.
What this means is that I drew the illustrations,
hundreds of them,
one line at a time.
I drew figures,
patterns,
techniques,
everything,
with lines.
Interestingly,
I remember,
at the time,
not being frustrated by the slowness of it all,
but being excited,
because I felt like I was,
by doing the illustrations in this slow and laborious way,
learning something about the human form,
writing what I was doing
in a new way in my mind.
By the time I was done
I felt VERY changed inside.

So,
that’s it.

Again,
thanks Timothy,
I hope people appreciate your win,
and I hope they take the time to look at the book,
and get their own wins,
take a stab at understanding,
and even changing,
their own carefully crafted belief systems.

And everybody,
it’s summer,
have fantastic work outs!

True Martial Arts Training Methods

Newsletter 816

Relaxing is the only way to find the True Martial Arts

I remember reading of Koichi Tohei,
many years ago,
and some scientists asked if they could test his ki.
Like, on machines.

do yoga

Click on the Cover

Now this isn’t a smart idea.
Ki is an energy motivated by thought,
sometimes the energy can be registered,
but the thought never can,
so science often proves there is no such thing as ki.
Can’t be measured…doesn’t exist.
Which is the same reasoning
that kept the world flat for so many centuries.
They just don’t what to measure,
and there isn’t a machine in existence
that can measure thought.

That said,
the test went round and round,
they couldn’t explain what Koichi was doing,
and they couldn’t figure out the readings they were getting,
and he,
probably with a diabolical sense of humor,
told them he could slow his heart down.

They said nonsense,
a human being couldn’t control the nervous system in that way.
So he did it.
He dropped it some 30 beats,
then sped it up again,
then slowed it down.
And the scientists were really confused.

So let’s talk about what you are supposed to do
with your mind in the martial arts.

First,
forget it.
It’s just a bunch of memories.
Get rid of the past,
at least ignore it,
and you are more in the present,
and then you can better control your body.
Logical, right?
But too simple.
People have a hard time buying into this simplicity.

So,
in Karate,
we trained so that the mind
didn’t become excited,
and so that we kept looking,
and ignored emotion.
Ignored the emotion of fighting.
Didn’t feel the anxiety,
or panic,
or sudden beating of the heart
as the world devolved to chaos.

Note that I am moving at the same time.

When somebody throws a punch at me
I actually slow down.
My mind looks right past any memories,
and I focus on the moment.
I stop reacting,
even to my own training,
and start moving with the person.
In real time.

Now,
there are MANY examples of this in the world.
The baseball player,
for instance,
the guy way out in the field,
takes off…AT THE CRACK OF THE BAT!
Not before it,
not after it,
but at the same time.
AND,
he moves intuitively to where the ball is going.
He attempts to ‘meet’ the ball,
at some specified time and place.

But how did he know where the ball was going…
at THE CRACK OF THE BAT!

There are other examples,
but this is my favorite,
probably because everybody knows what I am talking about.
Especially if they have played baseball.

If you have ever had a sixth sense,
known when something was going to happen before it happened,
felt somebody walk behind you (hairs on end),
that is you,
putting aside memories,
and perceiving directly.

In Karate,
it happened about the time I got to Black Belt.
When I got there I began to focus,
without excitement or distraction,
on what was happening.
And it really screwed people up,
when I displayed no reaction time.

Reaction comes from ‘react’
which means you are so immersed in memories (or training)
that you can’t perceive directly.

Signals have to travel through the body to create motion,
instead of you,
apart from your body,
just creating motion.

Okay,
I’ve talked long enough,
probably left as much confusion as enlightenment.
But here’s the trick…
You have to train with people
in a system which understands this.
In which the techniques support this,
the forms are aligned and orderly.
The freestyle is not a fight,
but a procedure of learning how to look.
Not getting excited,
not getting distracted by emotions,
but calming yourself
so that you don’t get excited.

I’ve done the best I could
to give you a good system.
In fact…systemS.

Here are the systems…
http://monstermartialarts.com/courses/

But you have to work,
and work hard.
You have to get the idea that I’m talking about in your mind.
You have to force yourself to calm,
to put aside excitement,
and become cool and machinelike in your actions.

Good luck with this,
in spite of all the simplicity of my systems,
it is still hard.

It’s hard to restrain emotion,
put aside memories,
memories that you sometimes don’t even recognize as existing,
and function on a high level.

But it is possible.
Good work out to you.

Black Belt in Karate, Black Sash in Tai Chi Chuan

Newsletter 798
The Importance of a Black Belt in the Martial Arts

Good afternoon!
Absolutely stunning day.
Absolutely perfect for a work out.

Hey,
I had somebody ask me,
the other day,
what belt I was.
It’s a legitimate question.

I received my black belt in 1974.
It was in a classical karate system,
the Kang Duk Won.

And,
a few years ago,
a bunch of my black belts decided
I should be an 8th black belt.
I had some forty years training at the time.
But it was sort of interesting.
we had a wall,
and everybody who made black belt
got a plaque on the wall.
We had a dozen or so plaques,
and somebody noticed there wasn’t one for me.
So they got together and got an 8th black plaque for me.

The funny thing is I didn’t notice it
for quite some time.

Here’s the deal.
I’m proud of my black belt.
But,
shortly after I received my belt,
I lost all interest in belts
and promotions
and such.
(Though I did appreciate
what my black belts did)

Simply,
I became addicted to the information,
the the art,
to the development of myself in a spiritual sense.
But that’s me.
For those who have just begun,
you should be very concerned
with earning a legitimate black belt.

A legitimate black belt carries with it
the realization,
the knowledge,
that you have just begun to learn.
If you earned a black belt,
and you didn’t get that thought,
then there is a good chance that you aren’t legitimate.
You haven’t CBMed,
made the art into yourself,
inverted your viewpoint of the world,
haven’t understood that reality is the illusion,
and yourself is the projector.

Now,
the real point of the martial arts is this:
Does it work.

First,
does it work as self defense.
Can you defend yourself?

Second,
does it make you grow spiritually?
Do you understand your worth as an ‘I am,’
do you see yourself as a point of awareness,
do you understand how your thoughts control the universe?

I suppose,
analyzing my own preferences,
that is why I prefer Karate first,
and Tai Chi second.

Karate works.
It makes my bones hard,
puts snap in my muscles,
and gives me long life.

Tai Chi works also.
It makes me sensitive,
removes me from illusion,
and gives me long life.

And,
interestingly,
Tai Chi,
learned effectively,
is one of the most incredible
self defense styled martial arts
I have ever experienced.

And,
they provide me with a ‘hard and soft’ progression of art.
After you do a bit of matrixing,
you can see how karate can become tai chi.
And how tai chi enhances Karate.

All very interesting.

If you are experienced with the hard,
I recommend the soft.
If you are experienced with the soft,
I recommend the hard.

It’s the only way to be sure
that you really understand
all aspects of the martial arts.

The trick,
of course,
is to make sure you matrix BOTH martial arts.

Here are the Matrix links.

Congrats to A New Martial Arts Master Instructor!

Martial Arts Master Instructor Course

Okay,
my apologies,
I should have announced Jim a few weeks ago,
but this durned Al’sheimers really gets me.

So,
Congrats to Master Instructor Jim McElroy!

Dear Mr. Case
Something I want to say:
I’ve studied martial arts for many years (1977-) and never had them explained as clearly as your courses do. I cannot thank you enough for these courses. Sincerely Jim Elroy
Now with that said here I go:
Some Wins and realizations that i have gotten from your (Master Instructor) course:

And,
sorry to say,
I can’t tell you the rest of Jim’s wins.
The reason is that he goes through the material,
point by point,
explaining exactly how it works,
and how he understands it.

This tells me that he really understood the material,
which means that he will be able to use it,
but…
if I tell you the win then I will be giving you
the contents of the course.

Shucks,
we don’t want to do that!
Grin.

But here’s the thing,
this is the only course in the world
that people read,
and understand the material
well enough to transform their martial art.
Just by reading!

Oddly,
it is simple stuff,
but it is not talked about commonly in the martial arts,
or,
if it is spoken of,
then only in mystical terms
that reveal a fascination for what is being said,
but no understanding.

This is important,
this thing of mysticism vs understanding.

Three blind men came across an elephant.
One said, ‘it is like a wall!’
The second said, ‘it is like a little snake,’
the third said, ‘it like a fire hose with two big teeth!’

Each has a different viewpoint,
and they pass these viewpoints down
until everybody argues what the elephant is like.

Then you come across one yourself,
and you are not blind,
and you see how each blind man misunderstood,
and you are the only one that truly understands.

This is what matrixing does.
And it does it not by passing down my viewpoint,
but by giving you the actual physics of the martial arts.
Not the western world version of physics,
but the physics that takes into account
things like chi energy,
how the body is constructed for the martial arts,
and so on.

Things that people have rarely heard,
and then only in mystical terms.

So,
again,
my thanks to Master Instructor Jim Elroy.
Well done for that great win.
And my apologies for being so late in announcing you.

And,
now the news,
the next book,
‘How to Matrix the Martial Arts
(and the universe and life and everything else),’
is almost ready to go.
I am actually working on the physical version,
just a couple of things to do,
and then it will be here.

And,
for everybody…
it is fall.
Fall has fallen,
so have you picked an art to dedicate yourself to this winter?
Are you going to know a new art by Summer?

Think about it,
do it,
and let me know how it goes.

Have a great work out!
Al

Myth and Mysticism in the Martial Arts!

Myth Versus Mysticism in the Martial Arts

Do you study Karate? Or kung fu or kenpo or Taekwondo? Or even Mixed Martial Arts? Then let me ask you a question.

Would you turn in your car for a horse and buggy?

Click on the cover to find the source of the martial arts...

Click on the cover to find the source of the martial arts…

Why not? After all, the horse and buggy is the old standard. Will never blow a fuse. You’ll get a thousand gallops before the old girl keels over. So why not?

Okay, so let’s rephrase that…would you give up your horse and buggy for a car?

Sort of a silly question, isn’t it?

So let’s talk martial arts.

Your kung fu or Kenpo, your Karate or Jujitsu, those are horse and buggy. They are routines based on mysticism. They are born of legends which cannot be proved.

Mind you, they were great in their day, but why not put them aside for something a little more scientific?

Here’s the thing, people are taught monkey see monkey do. They learn methods based on the movements of the tiger, or some old nun, or some cosmogony that may or may not bear much resemblance to reality.

They are not taught scientifically.

Yes, the arts work, but here’s the question…do you want to ride a horse across the US? Or take a car?

Heck, the car is going to be ten times faster, easier on the bones, and fun.

The horse might be…fun.

The car is built scientifically.

The horse is a miracle of evolution…but it is not a scientifically designed mode of transportation. It is slow, requires constant feeding, and leaves noxious waste.

The car is…fast.

So what do you want to do? Keep going with the old mystical mystic stuff?

Or learn ten times faster?

Interesting choice, eh?

If you want to understand something, not just do it blindly, then you need Matrixing. And you can find matrixed martial arts at MonsterMartialArts.com.

How Neutronics Works in the Martial Arts

Newsletter 765
How Neutronics Works in the Martial Arts

Happy June Gloom Work Out!
Here in Los Angeles it gets foggy and misty,
very un-summerlike,
but it is a breath of coolness
time to work out,
because it is going to be hotter than the devil’s zipper
in a short while.

Okay,
this newsletter courtesy of Rick T.,
a master instructor,
one of my original students from way back when.
Actually,
about 1984,
if I recall correctly.

Rick told me to shut up and talk about Neutronics.
He says I always back off,
and I do.
The reason I back off is because most people
need the discipline of the martial arts
for this stuff to make sense and work.

If you don’t have some kind of discipline,
it just rolls off,
becomes meaningless words.
Say three hail mary’s and call me in the morning
type of stuff.

If you do have discipline,
the world opens up.
Words open a reality unbelievable,
and the universe becomes simple dimple.
Anything you want you can have.
You know the truth.
And the only thing stopping you is you.

Neutronics is the study of you.
You find you by finding the motionlessness inside the motion.
By finding the awareness that is you
that causes all motion.

I remember one fellow who had lots of experience,
and he wrote back after doing Neutronics,
that he couldn’t stop thinking about motors and the universe
and how it all worked.
He was awake,
galvanized,
totally different,
and couldn’t stop.

And so many people get nothing.
No discipline,
or the discipline they had
was not matrixed,
not focused,
just a general mish mash of physical work out
without the awareness being engaged.

So let me tell you one simple thing
as to how I use Neutronics.
This is REALLY simple,
but has immense effect,
once you understand it,
and can use it.

Aggression.
There isn’t a person among us
who hasn’t experienced somebody coming towards them.
Displaying hostility,
even an outright threat.

Maybe it’s a boss who got up
on the wrong side of bed.
Maybe it is a mate
and you left the lid up.

Maybe it is a drunk,
enraged because he thinks you’re someone he knew
ten years ago,
and is still pissed at.
Aggression.
So what do you do?
How do you handle it Neutronically?

Here is the simple,
one sentence response,
which pulls the plug,
and puts you TOTALLY in control.

You simply say the following phrase:

‘You’re coming towards me.’

This is a shocker,
takes the juice out of him,
and of the situation.

Or it doesn’t,
and you now know you have to strike first,
or at least reposition yourself.

Here’s why this works…

The universe is filled with objects,
these objects have a direction
The direction is flow.
If an object collides with other objects,
you have force.
So all there is in the universe
is force and flow.
And to handle the universe
all you have to do is handle force and flow.
Or flow,
so that any force that happens,
is as you want it.

When you tell a person he is coming towards you,
he is suddenly spotlighted.
All attacks will be fruitless.
He can’t get close.
He can’t sneak punch.
He can’t chest bump you.
He is spotted,
his trajectory is plotted,
and his aggression is notted.

Now,
if he keeps coming,
if he doesn’t care that he is illuminated,
then his insanity is on display,
and you can consider that he means you harm.
You can side step.
You can,
if the situation is dire,
hit him first.
After all,
you are sane,
he is not,
so who should survive?
You.

You,
brother,
and I mean it.

Now,
there is a LOT more to it than this.
This is just the sneak peak.
The heads up,
something you can use and verify.

BUT,
it won’t work if you don’t have the discipline.
See,
here’s a trick,
you have to tell the bozo who is coming at you
without your voice going in any direction.
You must not have emotion.
You must not lean away or towards him,
or even be side stepping.
And this is incredibly hard to do.
It is easy when you have a real black belt,
especially one backed up by matrixing.

But if your art is tilted and slanted,
skewed by power or money
or any kind of belief system,
it won’t work.
It might even make the situation worse.

But if you do have matrixed discipline,
then it works,
and every time.

When it works the situation always devolves into talk.
But that’s okay.
You talk,
he talks,
and aggression disappears.

And,
beyond this,
I’ve written a half a dozen books on Neutronics,
giving principles and examples,
explaining how things like motors work
and what are the three parts of the universe
and so on and so on.

By itself,
nothing but words.
With Matrixed discipline,
as in the martial arts,
it totally changes you.
And if it doesn’t change you,
you simply need more matrixing,
more martial arts.

Okay,
here is the URL

http://churchofmartialarts.com

If you like what I’ve said here,
if you get some of the books
and like them,
tell me,
hit the like button,
I’ll write more.

If nobody says anything,
it all just goes into the sunset,
sinks into the waves,
to await a day when people are more disciplined,
are ready to realize their true potential,
are ready to be able to do anything they want.

Now,
have a GREAT work out!

Don’t Break ANY of these Martial Arts Laws!

A Martial Arts Lesson for Lawbreakers!

Good evening!
Gonna be a GREAT weekend!
Cause you’re gonna have a GREAT work out!

Got an announcement coming up,
but before we get into that,
let’s have a hoot or two.

tekki one

Kima Chasie ~ Horse Meditation

Did you know that in Foxboro, MA
no martial artist can practice if his shoes are untied.
Got to be true, eh?
I sort of remember that Karate guys work out in bare feet,
but,
maybe they mean all the other martial arts guys/

And,
in Sutherland, Iowa
it is strictly forbidden
to kick the hat off somebody’s head
using martial arts.
I guess if you can kick a hat off
and you don’t know martial arts,
it’s okay.
I mean,
I don’t know for sure,
some of these furshlugginer martial arts laws
are tuff to figger out!

And,
in Casper, Wyoming,
martial arts experts may not wear goatees,
they are illegal
unless one has the appropriate and special permit.
Now that is experts,
which would be black belts,
so i suppose one could have a goatee
until they reached black belt,
then they would have to shave that sucker off.

Now,
to be honest,
I am a wee bit unsure of the veracity of these legislations.
Although,
again to be honest,
anything is possible in Obama’s America.

That said,
I will assume that these laws are true,
until somebody from
Foboro, Sutherland, or Casper,
writes to me and tells me otherwise.
And,
it gos without saying,
I will be extra careful if I am ever caught in those towns.
If I am not caught,
I probably won’t be careful.
You know how that is.

So,
I have a special release coming.
It’s actually going to be a re-release,
but,
it is the introduction to that release
that is going to be the most interesting.
Here is the title of the book
that is being prepared
for that special release.

The Truth About Matrixing
(The First and Only Science of the Martial Arts)

or

How to Grow a Martial Art from the Ground Up

or

The Scientific Way to Enlightenment in the Martial Arts.

Quite a title, eh?
But I’m pretty serious about it.
But here’s the thing,
there’s too many people
who just pass on by,
who look at the website,
think I’m a scam,
aren’t willing to learn anything
outside of their small world.

So I am going to poke my finger in their eye.
I’m going to tell the truth about Matrixing,
I’m going to enlighten people,
show them how matrixing really works,
and let the cards fall where they may.

When you think about it,
it’s not right.

People go to school,
they learn things,
and most of what they learn is bushwah.
Lies.
So,
here comes the truth,
and we’ll see what happens.

Anyway,
I’ll tell you more about it
in the next newsletter or two.
And I’ll arrange that you get a chance
to get this once in a lifetime freebie.

Cruel.
All these people who have been saying no,
get it for free.
But you,
who believe,
are going to have to do something for it.
But that’s okay.
It’s a good cause.
A matrixed world,
a world full of matrixed martial arts,
is definitely worth doing something extra.

Okay ka-dokay!
That’s all I’m going to say.
I’m still working on it,
very intense,
but we’ll get there.

In the meantime,
I meant what i said
at the beginning of this newsletter.
you really are going to have a GREAT weekend.
And you really are going to have a GREAT work out!

So go for it,
and I’ll keep you updated on this release,
as it gets closer,
and closer.

Al

A Great Birthday Win in the Martial Arts!

Newsletter 761
A Great Birthday Win

Hey Hey and Hi!
I’m just about to work out,
gonna do it right after writing this.
So when you finish reading,
make sure you work out, too.

master yoga

martial arts

Be silent, my friend, and hear yourself think…

I received a great win,
and I want to share it.
Then I’ve got something to ask you.
Here’s the win…

Hey Al!
First off: all the technical stuff (downloads and video access) worked perfectly.  Thank you very much for your (professional and courteous) concern.
I want to apologize for the delay in my response. I saw your email, and wanted to be sure to give you an honest response, so I decided to check all the downloads first. And then, while I was waiting on the other downloads, I thought I would read a little bit…
Now, three days later, I’ve read everything, and I’ve gone back to your site to read about all the courses you have available.  Why?  Because, put simply:
After 24 years of Martial Arts training (including instructor certification in three different arts and several years of teaching professionally in both a storefront and through seminars), Matrix Karate is THE SINGLE BEST PEDAGOGICAL METHOD (for the martial arts) I have EVER had the pleasure to encounter.
And you are welcome to quote me on that, or anything I have to say here, in whole or in part, should you find it convenient or beneficial to do so.
I was thoroughly shocked to find your work, because I have been trying to ‘get’ the True Way through studying many arts. I have found some pretty awesome things while comparing Karate to Wing Chun, practing Aikido weapons before Tai Chi play, and incorporating Qi Gung into my Krav Maga. But I felt there was something more, something deeper… And I believe I have found it in Matrixing!
Jeff

Thank you Jeff,
wins really make my day.
And,
this one hit me good,
because,
IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!

It’s always nice to get a little present, eh?

And, that brings us to the thing I was going to ask you.

Forgive me.

I ask this twice a year.
Birthday and Christmas.
Simply,
if I have messed up,
offended,
done something wrong,
said something that rubbed you the wrong way,
or ANYTHING,
forgive me.

It is important to live a clean life,
and this one thing
helps keep me clean.
Keeps the thoughts pure in my universe,
and keeps my martial arts popping.

So thank you.

And,
I guess I should say one other thing about this.

Many people walk through life
looking for people to tell them they are great.
I go through life looking for my mistakes.
You learn ten times more from a mistake,
than you do from a pat on the back.

Nothing wrong with a pat on the back.
I heartily recommend them,
but,
shove my face in a good mistake.
It will teach me much more,
and I will be better for it.

Okay,
Last thing.
It’s the beginning of summer.
Kids are getting out of school,
people are planning vacation,
so what martial art are you going to learn this summer?
The three month Karate course will work nicely.
Set that goal,
a Black Belt by september,
plan out a daily work out,
a couple of hours will do well,
and then make that goal happen.

Look,
you see that PX90 thing on TV,
three months to a totally changed body.
And the military takes people
and totally changes them in 3 – 4 months,
so why the heck can’t you learn something like Karate?
Or kung fu or whatever?
In three months!
It will not only change your body,
make a completely different you,
give you the ability to self defend,
but it will give you
an accomplishment of knowledge
like nothing else on the planet.
Being a black belt
is simply the best knowledge you can have.
It is the best thing you can be.

So,
why not?
What the heck else you got going?
Eh?

Okay, Here’s the address…

Now,
go out and have a great work out!

Just How Violent Are You?

Good evening!
Rainy and cold,
perfect for a work out,
really warm me up!
Isn’t life great?
Great work outs equal a great life!

Got a great quiz for you.
Go to this link and do the quizz,
then come back.

http://www.gotoquiz.com/are_you_capable_of_killing

If you don’t like the results,
check yourself with another quiz of the same type.
See you in a while…

http://www.gotoquiz.com/are_you_capable_of_killing_someone

kenpo karate

Fascinating book on how to align keno and make it more powerful.

Welcome back.
How’d you do?
On the first quiz I got 44%
On the second I got 36%
So average of 40% capable of killing people.
Hmmm.
I guess that doesn’t make me too balanced.
But that’s okay.
As long as I take my meds and…
just joking.
I don’t like pills.
At all.

Anyway,
I found the quizzes interesting.
I study the martial arts,
it’s all about killing.
I had to think long and hard
about some of the questions,
after all,
if I’m practicing a technique where I rip somebody’s head off…
isn’t that thinking about murder?
Hmmm.

Which brings us to an interesting point.
the martial arts are,
by and large,
a fantasy.
Of all the people I know who know martial arts,
probably one in a hundred ever got in a fight.
They all got calmer, smarter,
were in better shape,
were nicer people.

And,
I haven’t been in a fight since high school.
that’s a long time.

So we come to the crux of it all.

It’s not wrong to be capable,
I would count that as a gained ability.
That’s why you are studying.
But,
it’s probably wrong to act on those impulses,
and I would say that martial artists are much more capable,
but much less willing to act on impulse.
Sort of turns that bad feeling you get
from being so capable and efficient and all,
into a nice feeling.

Yeah.
You know martial arts,
and you can hurt people,
but because you understand the consequences of hurting people,
you are more careful not to.

Heck,
and you thought you’d done badly.
Silly you.

Now,
want to know the art that I do,
that would probably result
in the most damage to somebody?
That would really hurt them?
Tai Chi.

Yeah,
that slow stuff.
Loosey goosey slow as molasses.
Much deadlier than Karate.
Maybe not as deadly as Blinding Steel,
but Blinding steel uses weapons.

Anyway,
want to hear about a weird fight?
The guy who got me into the Kang Duk Won,
his brother was a Hell’s Angel
who also studied Karate at the Kang Duk Won.
Don’t be so surprised,
there were a lot of bikers there.

So this brother,
T I’ll call him,
got in an argument with the head of the school,
Bob Babich.
One of T’s favorite weapons
was a primary chain off a motorcycle.
I don’t know what kind of motorcycle,
but T could wrap it around his waist
and pull it out in a fight.
He could swing it and it would wrap around,
or he could turn it 90 degrees,
and it was like an iron bar.

So T told Bob he couldn’t beat a guy
armed with a primary chain.
Bob said he could.
T said he couldn’t.
Bob told him to try it.
T pulled out the chain,
flicked it through the air.
Bob stepped back and let it pass,
and it cut him above the eye,
a thin, little slit that hardly bled.
Then Bob stepped in after the chain
and touched T’s eyeball.
Didn’t strike,
just touched.
T dropped the chain,
end of fight.

The funny thing here
is that T was a killer.
Certified.
Bob was a martial artist.
Bob was more capable of killing,
but he knew the consequences,
and he was careful not to kill.

True story.

Okay,
enough bushwah.
Time to work out a bit more.

So here’s the link to Matrix Tai Chi Chuan.

http://monstermartialarts.com/martial-arts/2ba-matrix-tai-chi-chuan/

This course breaks Tai Chi down,
makes it totally understandable.
