Urban Weapons: Three Heavy Duty Martial Arts Examples

Urban Weapons: Self Defense when Society Falls Apart!

Urban Weapons make one think of assault rifles, water cannons, tear gas, SWAT officers in full body armor. The simple truth, however, is that those items are not generally available to the public. Try sauntering along the avenue in full body armor with an M50 hanging from a shoulder…you’ll get more than a few stares.

The fact that you are trying to survive mob rule, stay alive during hard times, and that sort of thing, is not going to cut it with the authorities. Let me say it so everybody can understand it…today’s police are no longer here just to protect and serve. Todays police are being trained towards a military stance, and gathering taxes.

While you’re cogitating about that last sentence, let’s talk about some simple tools for self defense and home protection. I’ve got three gimcracks that you might want to consider. The thing that is nice is that you can make these little doodads all by your lonesome.

Before I continue with this article, however, I want to offer a disclaimer. I do not propose violence, nor the construction of illegal weapons. What I describe here is for a time when law has broken down and you are forced to fight for your life.

The first urban weapon that is fun to have is a Kubotan. These are cool, little keychains linked to a small bar of hard plastic. You can construct them with wood dowels (space some nails along the sides at finger intervals) and they can be used to stab, slash, bash, and even practice a jointlock or four.

My second urban martial arts style weapon is probably better for older folk, but can be used by anybody who needs it. Take a cane, drill a hole and insert a nail in the bottom, put a hose clamp on the bottom, place a cork over it. This is for keeping legs away and stabbing feet when they try to get a little too friendly.

My third martial arts style urban weapon goes around your waist. If you wear tight pants (don’t want them falling down) you can whip that puppy out and use it for a flail, or a whip, or even a sling. If you have a heavy buckle with sharp edges, or have some projecting points on it, you have got a first class, medieval style weapon.

Now, I have built these weapons on my own, and I even practice with them on occasion. But I would rather that the planet comes to its senses, I hope the fools in charge of countries come to an understanding that war destroys society, it doesn’t help it. But, when the food is no longer in the stores and mobs of hungry people are running around, robbing and stealing for a crumb, the smart people will have quick and sneaky urban weapons of the type I have mentioned here.

In summary, let me say that when it comes to Urban Weapons I think that Blinding Steel is the premier Martial Arts Weapons course. You learn how to handle all distances, all manner of weapons, and in a matter of a few days. Blinding Steel is the best way to be prepared if you actually have to use one of these urban weapons I have written about here.
